Where do you get your digital pictures printed? I would like to have them professionally developed instead of printing them at home, but I want to get hte best value. Any suggestions? I tried one national drug-store chain offering a great deal. Imagine my surprise to find the top half of my pictures cut off. I returned them because they offered 100% satisfaction guarantee. I wasn't quite satisfied missing the top half of my pictures.

Who do you use?

I know people here frown on Wal-Mart, but I love their picture printing stations. I go in and print my pictures from my camera card. Their computers allow you to look at the picture up close, enhance it, crop it, etc., yourself before printing. The cost is 28 cents per picture.

I've found great prices at Costco. I upload my pictures to their website and can pick them up an hour later.

If you join cvs.com website, you get 50 free prints, and you can pick them up at your local store, you also get them printed quite cheap as well.. I think $0.19 for 4x6 but also very reasonable for other sizes as well.

Our local walgreens charges .15 if you do over 100 pictures. There is a little station where you can choose which pictures, crop rotate whatever. It's the cheapest I've found around here. If I want doubles on some but not others that is nice also, and they're ready in an hour.

Speaking as a former photo-lab employee, I would prefer QUALITY over quantity (print per price). Wal-Mart simply does not print good photos. Both Walgreens and CVS have better quality photo printers. You get what you pay for! I'm not saying you have to spend outrageous amounts... pharmacy photo labs have sales every other week on prints, and if you send them via an online order, you save even more!

There is a locally owned printer in my town. He actually does printing for many of the local professional photographers. If you get 100 or more prints at a time it is .20 /print. A fabulous deal for the quality! And when they messed up one of my orders the let me keep the mess ups and printed the correction free. (I had asked for black & whites with white borders and the first time they printed them without.)

I wouldn't have gone there if my photographer friend hadn't told me their prices were still reasonable. My point here is: don't rule out your local printing/camera shop as a possible option without checking on their prices first (including for "large" orders).

Costco for local/immediate needs; otherwise I use snapfish.com. I buy prints prepaid in advance - right now if you prepay 250 prints you get them for 9 cents each. You do pay shipping but it is still quite inexpensive.

I use what used to be ofoto, but is now kodakgallery. I've never had a problem with the photos I get from them, and I usually get them within 3 days.

If you buy a frame from them, you can have them mount the photo there, and they do it so that there's no fingerprints on the photo or the glass. The wedding photos I had done this way came each individually wrapped in tissue so I could pick them up without getting fingerprints all over them. It was great, since they were all gifts anyway.
