Well, we got some great deals on meats lately so we stocked up...That's how I planned through the 20th. After that I just kind og guessed. It's up in the air if something goes on sale between now and then

Thanks for keeping this thread going AFWife! Wow, participation really dropped off during the summer. I suppose everyone was so busy that meal planning wasn't as big of a priority.

Well I'm ready to jump back into more formal meal planning now that September is almost here. Lots of changes for my family- all of my kids will be in school full time and I'm going back to work part time. Plus my kids are starting new extracurriculars, and I'll need to plan around that as well.

With all of the changes I'm only going to plan one week (or so) at a time, and adjust as needed with the new schedule. Here's what I've got so far:

Lunches will be packed lunches- usually a sandwich, a fruit, a veggie and an extra protein (cheese/nuts). DH works from home a few days a week. I think I'm going to try to make some nice veggie panini sandwiches on those days; I'd really like to figure out how to make something similar to Panera's Mediteranean Veggie sandwich.

Sunday August 30
lunch: leftovers
supper: rosemary chicken and fingerling potatoes over rice, greek salad

Monday August 31
supper: Hamburgers with provalone, tomato slices, lettuce, red onion and pickles, baked sweet potatoes

Tuesday September 1
supper: chicken tacos, salad

Wednesday September 2
supper: Lemon Pollock with Greens http://www.cookitfrozen.com/pollock_lemony.html

Thursday September 3
supper: calzones and salad

Friday September 4
supper: bratwurst and green beans

Saturday September 5
lunch: BBQ sandwiches, carrots, salad
supper: Coq au vin

Sunday September 6
brunch: eggs, bacon, english muffins
supper: (homemade) pizza

Monday September 7
lunch: leftovers/sandwiches
supper: out

Wow, you gals are good, great, pretty amazing. I am lucky if I can plan for the next day. But, I am here for some inspiration and to get planning some meals at least for the week. Maybe, plan on cooking a double batch of something and freezing 1/2.

I'd be willing to help someone plan out their meals if they need it. Even if it's just a week in advance.

I think this might be my first time posting in this forum...although I've read for a long time now! I have the 1st through the 14th already planned out here:

1: ham, cheddar, and romaine lettuce sandwiches with raw carrots
2: sweet potato, broccoli, and salmon chowder
3: BLT's with a summer pasta salad
4: will be spending the night with my mom -- so dinner there
5: big family cookout -- i'm making deviled eggs and chocolate chip cookies
6: dinner at my mom's again (we're there for the weekend)
7: bbq chicken on the grill, green bean wraps, grilled corn on the cob
8: sweet & hot drumsticks, raw veggies
9: homemade waffles
10: hamburgers, homemade potato fries
11: salmon, vegetable casserole
12: grilled steak, baked potato
13: cube steak, fried green tomatoes, potato salad
14: clean out the fridge night

I'm working on the 15-30, but am having a hard time because we are EXTREMELY tight on money that pay period. As in, if I could get groceries for under $30 that would be ideal. I know that's likely not going to happen, but I'd like to come in much under our $100/2 weeks budget. Any ideas? We are not picky eaters at all.

I got the recipe from a booklet that came with my crockpot.

8 potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 onion, chopped
1 package country-style gravy
1 can of mushroom soup
2 cups water
(optional) ham cubes

Cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Top with 2 cups cheddar cheese during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

For the ravioli, I make a mixture of ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, spinach, and an egg. I use wonton wrappers for the dough.

I'll take you up on this I fell off the planning wagon and am ready to get back on, but am lacking the swift kick in the rear I need. I have the rest of this week planned, but I'm stuck after that.

I did a 2 week rotating menu for July-August, and I think I'll do it again for Sept-Oct. So I'm planning to do these 14 meals repeating 3 times for the 6 weeks until our next homeschool break:

1-Macaroni and cheese (sitter)
2-Falafel sandwiches
3-Veggie dogs (DH)
4-Asian Fried Rice
5-Black bean chili
6-Gnocchi with sweet potato
7-Quiche
8-Homemade Pizza
9-Chickpea burgers
10-Mock chicken nuggets (sitter)
11-Chickpea Curry
12-Bean tacos
13-Lemon-pepper pasta
14-Mock chicken cutlets

Breakfasts rotate between: 1/week "fancy breakfast" french toast or pancakes or omelets; cereal and fruit; cinnamon toast and yogurt; freezer waffles in the toaster. Lunches rotate between: Pasta salad, grilled cheese, PBJ, and hard boiled eggs.

Happy with my DH, 2 kids, dog, fish, and frogs

Subbing. I've cleaned out my freezer, need to replenish and meal plan at the same time. Next month I should be way more on the ball......this month, however, I'm going to be stealing all of your good ideas!
