Yesterday the pasta dish was penne with roasted garlic, spinach and tomatoes.

Today - Birthday party, so hot dogs and floats. It's a 50s diner!

Went to the farmers' market this morning, so for this coming week I planned:

* Roasted potatoes and eggs
* Tofu stir-fry with asparagus
* Pasta with a big salad

Decided on Norwegian meatballs with dill sauce and egg noodles, with ligonberries for dinner. Oh, and I plan to make rye bread rolls today, so some of those toasted if I do actually make them.

Dining from the vat of "meaty rice" I made yesterday - braised rices with seasonings, greens, herbs and spices of all kinds (generous tarragon always, copious dandelion in this batch), about half an amphora of olive oil, and many cans of sardines. OH: and handfuls of peanut or cashew pieces.

Great with a side of veg.

Dinner tonight: pork pot roast with veggies (although I have no idea which... our CSA box is getting picked up right this minute, so I'll find out in 30 minutes or so). Thinking about an omelet with veggies for the vegetarian teen.

Clean out the fridge night here turned into a soup with kale, red onion, red pepper, ground beef, tomato, barley and alphabets. A bit bland. I thought my broth could stand up to dilution but was wrong. Didn't want to add a cube to feed tithe baby. So bland it is.

Ham and potato soup here - a thinner stock-only broth with no soy milk. It reminded me of Norwegian fiskesuppe (fish soup - which is basically just white fish and potatoes in a light stock broth, minimal seasoning) in a good way.

I made Pakistani kima last night for the first time - it was delicious! Ground beef, diced tomatoes, green beans, and sweet potatoes. Curry powder, cinnamon, garlic powder... Used a recipe from wellnessmama.com
