I don't know what happened, but the grocery store seemed really picked over and out of things we usually buy. Couldn't find any pizza meat for the pizzas I was going to make for dinner, out of my son's lunch apple sauce and deli meat he likes, no steel cut oats, no bananas for the hub's smoothies. Will try again tomorrow... no idea what to have tonight instead... Might be a toast or popcorn night. LOL

The hubs was able to get the rest of our missing groceries and we made personal size pizzas for dinner. We have enough ingredients to have it again tomorrow, so YAY! They turned out awesome, even with the hub's being gluten free (I found some great gf frozen crusts) and dairy free (he loves Daiya "cheese"), so that was a real win.

We splurged on a bit of sushi grade salmon and tuna and made sushi rolls for a special Valentine's dinner. Accompanied by seaweed salad and miso soup.

Carla, bibimbap is one of my absolute favorites! Mouth watering...

For Valentine's Day, which is also DH's bday, we went to a ramen restaurant for lunch - super yummy - and then ate leftovers for dinner.

Mmmm, yes. Bibimbap is one of my favorites, too. I'd love to hear how it turns out.

Working through leftovers today. Mabo tofu with the last of the Chinesd leftovers for lunch today, adding ground beef to leftover tomato sauce for dinner, with broccoli, I think.

Some sort of stomach illness brewing around here, so no idea what we'll be eating for dinner tonight. Keeping breakfast for dinner in my back pocket as an option. If so, it'll be tofu scramble, potatoes, and pancakes.

Tonight - chickpea-potato curry from the crockpot, garlic naan, cucumber salad, yogurt sauce, lime pickle

Tomorrow - spaghetti, tomato sauce, meatballs or ground beef on the side for the two of us who are currently eating meat, broccoli & parmesan

Next up:
* Tacos (this is pretty much a standard every week) - this time w/ black beans or red lentil "taco meat" and toppings
* Tofu & rice bowls with vegetables
* Maybe Thai curry soup

We did boiled shrimp, side of orzo with veggies and a crunchy baguette.

Tomorrow, I set up lasagna for my daughter to slip in the oven. All I have to do is come home, make the garlic bread and open the red wine.

Okay, I hiked today so we ordered a pizza. Will you drum me out of the dinner club?

Sunday night chicken and dumplings. This is one of the best ways I know to used up the bits of baked chicken that never seem to get eaten in a week's time. The dumplings are just biscuit dough that floats in the broth but it is so yummy. A true comfort food.

Monday ... steak fajitas, side of beans and other tex/mex trimmings. Son in charge of trimmings and such.

Tuesday is meatloaf with sweet potatoes cubed and oven baked. I assemble this the night before, daughter gets it baking before we get home from work.

Wednesday hubby makes wonton soup. Well, he assembles it excellently. We buy most of the ingredients pre-made but everyone in my family loves this soup and it is a "go to" in a busy work week.

Thursday we are headed out to Science pub. Nothing like a date night that includes a science lecture and a cider or beer.

Friday the gamers are here, they usually order terrific Indian food to share. So, I'm off the hook for cooking.

Heck no, or I would have been out long ago!

Yeah, ditto on the pizza thing. I made a box of Annie's, frozen peas, frozen spinach with pesto and Parmesan, and tuna salad. We got back late from my grandmother's and didn't shop this weekend, so.....

Wednesday night - Indian "burritos" with cauliflower, chickpeas, and coconut rice.

Thursday night - pasta puttanesca with bucatini, anchovies, capers, and black olives...one of my faves! And a well-deserved glass of Pinot Noir.

Tonight - DH and DSD will be home late. I will probably take DS and DD out for a casual dinner to celebrate Friday.

How's everyone? I've been busy with work and DH on a trip, so in the past week we had takeout twice. Also simple tacos and pasta. Tonight is a question mark - I'm taking the kids to protest Trump! (yes, we'll be careful) - but I did make a vegetarian kimchi jjigae soup for lunch. It's broth, tofu, carrots/cabbage/onion, flavored with kimchi and Korean pepper paste. I'm going to put noodles in mine.

Still planning for this week, but not feeling too much cooking mojo right now. Need fresh ideas - time to hit the cookbooks!

Ragana, you answered me before I got to say it! (I.e. The Trump rally)

I've been inspired by binge-watching season 15 of ATK on Amazon while sick this week.

We had their shredded beef in tacos last night. It was pretty good, but would have been better with their recommended short ribs instead of our mystery freezer steaks.
