I am going on maternity leave in May and will become a SAHM. So, we are going to be on a budget. I'm looking for a cookbook that has leftover recipes, crockpot recipes, etc. We eat meat once in awhile, so it doesn't have to be veggie. I will be going to the farmers markets here, so I want to eat more veggies.

Thanks so much!!

I'm a big fan of the More with Less cookbook by Doris Jantzen Longacre. From the back of the cookbook - "Since 1976, More with Less Cookbook has helped thousands of families establish a climate of joy and concern for others at mealtime, while improving nutrition and saving money." It's full of recipes from Mennonites from around the world. It has lots of basic, simple recipes I use again and again, as well as more exotic recipes. HTH!

I, too, like More with Less. REally, though, just see what your library has. You can take most "practical" cookbooks and glean recipes that would work for your situation and family. Just avoid cookbooks that tend to use ingredients you've never heard of or know are too expensive for your family!

I also like More With Less. There is also a companion book with more ethnic dishes ( I forget the name ).

I like More with Less and The New Laurel's Kitchen Cookbook. I've gotten them both from the library.
