HI I am not sure if this is supposed to go in meal planning but does anyone have any ideas "other" than hot dogs to go with baked beans?

We usually do a baked potatoe bar, baked beans, and a veggie. Or, a nice hearty bread like corn bread or brown bread.

Boca Burgers (Chef Max's favorite) are great w/ baked beans....Also, we do crispy "baked chicken" (the stuff you make w/chicken/corn flakes and bake in the oven) that goes really well with baked beans.

I like grilled food with baked beans. So, hamburgers, grilled chicken, grilled pork chops, grilled anything really.

My husband swears by 'rice and beans' as a satisfactory meal. To make the rice more interesting, add chopped onion and/or other veggies & seasonings to the rice prior to cooking...

My mom used to make sloppy joes with baked beans.

We're having baked beans tonight -- actually, although I will probably eat some, they are more for DP, who's eating a mostly vegetarian diet. I'm having a hamburger too, and we'll all have salad and corn on the cob. I think you could easily make the beans the "main dish" or protein of the meal, and serve side dishes -- a macaroni salad or potato salad, green salad, cucumber-and-tomato salad. If you do eat meat, ribs are great with beans, or BBQ pulled pork or shredded chicken sandwiches. Rice or even a rice-and-veggie pilaf would be perfect.

HTH!

Baked beans on top of cheese on toast works, too : Mainstay of the british diet (I'm talking about Heinz tinned here, btw, but proper homemade ones would do.)
Or fried eggs...

Beans on toast of course. I grew up on that

Ds likes them with rice, and with pasta. I also make quesadillas and put baked beans in with the cheese. Yum.

Growing up my mom would regularly brown onions, garlic, and ground beef and then add baked beans to it.

Definately on toast, with some black pepper. Heaven!

I also love it with mashed potato.

We had them last night with beef brisket that I did in the crock pot with some BBQ sauce.

We had them last week with a some pork spare ribs that we did in the crock pot with some BBQ sauce.

you can tell we use the crock pot a lot, and that DH and DSS love BBQ sauce!
