Making beef stew tonight for dinner and want to make some bread. What kind do you think would go best? French bread, rolls, whole wheat? Thanks.
sour dough? cornbread? yum either way!
Biscuits are usually the item of choice with stew around here but a hearty wheat bread would be nice as well. I use a recipe from allrecipes.com called J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits. I use part whole wheat flour and butter in mine (I think they call for shortening, yuck) and sometimes if I have it I use buttermilk in place of the milk. They come out so good like they are from a bakery or home cooking type of restaurant.
we're in the south and cornbread is def the way to go with beefstew. lol.
