We do a lot of cold cuts, and sunflower seed and butter. We also like to bring a ten dollar toaster with us and have toast, bagels, or english muffins with sunflower seed butter or cream cheese and jam for breakfast. Though we DO also do oatmeal often, as well.
We will also check out whether there is a microwave available in the lobby, and if there is, we will precook noodles (which can be warmed by running them under hot water), and then heat the sauce up in the lobby nuker.
We do also make pasta salad for picnics. We use LOTS of fruits and veggies, as well...sliced, diced, and ready to go! Too, we keep dried fruit, crackers, and cheese on hand...and we tend to carry large quantities of water along with us.
