Dinner for us this week:

Monday: soup and sandwich (this is a common one for us---I work on monday nights and the kids have rehearsal until 6pm and dp is in school and usually has a big work load/paper on monday nights so we need quick and easy with minimal clean up)
Tuesday: Chicken or Chick Pea Ceasar Salad Wraps. Another busy night with only one parent home. The kids and I can premake most of this during the day when we have time.
Wednesday: Pork chops, apple sauce, asparagus, sweet potato fries
Thursday: Salad, bread, spaghetti & marinara
Friday: veggies and dip, pizza
Saturday: Mexican pizzas, taquitos, chips & salsa

I'm a morning person.  We actually do exist.

I am in awe of all your plans! I am inspired. I have tried to do this before and always fail way baddly.

I am gonna give it a go soon but still, find myself buying stuff and not using it up,forgetting about stuff and finding it when it can no longer be resisitated.

My goal is to cut my food bill and have a great plan when shopping.

What do you do if you don't go with you go to plan for the day?

Doing what I can to make better choices every day!

Use it another day. I swap meals around fairly often depending on what we feel like and what I forgot at the store. My plan is already changed from what I posted above.

I am brand new to this too, but that's what I've been doing too. I'm not so good at it so sometimes I have spill over meals into the next week. Like i planned a meal that is bigger than I want to take on, so I cop out and have sanwiches or something previously frozen instead and then tack the unmade meal to another day or the next weeks plan.

The one I use:
.25 oz (or 1 pkg) active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 wheat germ
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp honey

dissolve yeast in water, let stand about 20 min, in lrg bowl combine flour, germ, and salt. Make well in center and add honey and yeast mixture, stir to combine, cover and let rise for a few minutes.
I bake it in a 350 oven for 5-10 minutes before adding sauce/toppings. If the dough seems a bit dry, add some olive oil before rising.

I haven't bought it in a while but if I remember correctly it is either in the cereal aisle and/or oatmeal aisle, depending on how your grocery store is arranged.

I but Bob's Red Mill so if your store carries those products, look in that section. Since I don't use it excessively, I store it in the freezer.

*you can sneak it in to meatloaf or anything that calls for breadcrumbs. A little sprinkled on yogurt is good too*

ETA: the recipe above should be "let stand about 10 min. oops
