I hope it's okay that I'm starting this one, I love looking at plans for ideas.

Here's what I have so far for October (and the last few days of September):

29th: Burgers (veggie or salmon) & salad
30th: BBQ pork & rice with steamed broccoli
1st: Sloppy Joes
2nd: Tuna melts (tuna, miracle whip & havarti on sourdough) in the panini grill
3rd: Banana pancakes and sausages
4th: Egg burritos & tater tots
5th: Pizza night (I haven't decided on take-out or homemade yet)
6th: Chicken Pot pie (probably from Costco) and salad
7th: Spaghetti & salad
8th: Panini (haven't decided on sandwich filling yet)
9th: Soft tacos
10th: Swedish meatballs with egg noodles
11th: Waffles, fruit & bacon
12th: Thanksgiving dinner at my Mom's (can't wait!)
13th: DH and I are eating out with a GC I got for my birthday
14th: Lettuce Wraps
15th: French toast & fruit
16th: Chicken fingers & salad
17th: Tosino & rice with some kind of veggie
18th: Chicken Tikka & rice
19th: Agedashi tofu, Tempura yams and rice

I meal plan in 3 week chunks so I haven't gotten to the last 10 days of October yet. I'm not sure why I do 3 week chunks, a whole month seems overwhelming.

Wow, I'm impressed! I can't plan more than a week ahead! We make our plan and then grocery shop (with leeway for sales) but there's no way I could do it for a month ahead...

Ham was the theme last week--I haven't decided what this week's theme will be. LOL.

I have most of October done but still need a few more. So I'll just post weekly.

2-Asian beef and noodle casserole
3-Grilled pork chops with pears and onions, scalloped potatoes, corn
4-Roast with carrots and onions, mashed potatoes
5-French dip sandwiches, baked fries, salad

Breakfast is oatmeal or bagels, weekends I do make more time consuming meals. Lunches are leftovers or sandwiches. Wednesdays we eat at my mom's which is why there are skipped days on there.

my first time in the meal planning threads. :

i am always so impressed with the diversity of everyone's meals! our schedule just does not allow for that (much to DS' chagrin). i tend to do leftovers with changed sides and/or overlap stuff. i also try to use whatever's in the house to make meals, and shop around what we have/what's on sale. makes meal-planning sort of backwards sometimes, but it works [most of the time].

so...this week:

10/12 - "breakfast for dinner": tx bacon, omelettes, french toast
10/13 - roasted chicken (whole) & veggies, rice
10/14 - chx leftovers, same rice, diff veggies
10/15 - split pea soup (out of the can) w/ crumbled [leftover] tx bacon & grilled cheese sandwiches or quesadillas
10/16 - whatever leftovers or other stuff DS grabs out of the frige while i'm out : hopefully something healthy
10/17 - last of the chicken, broccoli w/ cheese sauce, noodles
10/18 - undecided right now

i know next week i'll be making broth out of the chicken carcass, and we'll have some sort of pasta dish too. that's as far as i can look ahead at the moment.

I have to ask - what is breakfast soup? I've eaten miso soup for breakfast but it the only morning soup I could think of.

since I'm new at this meal planning thing, I am only doing one week in advance, trying to go by what's on sale (I'm also stocking up). Since we aren't eating out 2-3 times per week anymore, I already feel like I'm in a rut and am kind of out of ideas. I'm trying to plan for next week and am stuck. Maybe you could help me fill in based on what kinds of dinners we have? Tuesdays and Wednesdays have to be relatively easy since those are days we get home later.

Thanks!

October
1- sausage & squash skillet, salad
2- oriental chicken with rice noodles and veggie stir fry
3 - baked vegetable ziti, garlic rolls, salad
4 - grilled t-bones, roasted rosemary baby red potatos, garden squash
5 - roast herb cicken, mushroom risotto, steamed broccoli
6 - spaghetti with marinara and 3meats, garlic toast, steamed green beans
7 - ham and potato soup, herbed focaccia, salad
8 - chicken pot pie, salad
9 - homemade pizza
10- roasted pork chops, roasted root vegetables
11 - chili, corn bread, salad
12 - jumbalaya
13 - flat-iron steaks, baked potatoes, steamed broccoli
14 - chicken fajitas
15 - pork red-curry stir-fry with wild rice
16 - fried chicken a la alton brown, mashed potatoes, corn
17 - homemade pizza
18 - ate out since we weren't in town
19 - cornish game hens, mushroom couscous, edamame
20 - grilled carne asada tacos
21 - leftovers
?
?
?

I think the hardest part is that when we ate out (mostly to-go), I could get Thai and DP could get italian or something. Our food tastes are so different so cooking to accommodate both of us is becoming a challenge. I like really spicy food, asian and anything new - DP is a meat and potatoes man. DD will eat anything

It is a fruit soup kind of similar to a smoothie
I usually do 1 c. yogurt, 1 banana and some peaches. Blend, serve in a bowl w/ "sprinkles" (wheat germ or ground flax) and sometimes toast w/pb.
You could really do any fruit and sometimes I have to thin it w/ milk.

Are you talking about Disney? If so, yes I would do the one you mentioned. We did the 3 meals one last time and it was WAY too much, especially with kids. I was so sick of eating by the end of that.
