Three separate Freecyclers came by today to pick up three boxes of stuff. I have a charity pickup tomorrow, so another pile of boxes will go.

I pulled out a multi-piece toy to bag up and donate and found that I'm missing four pieces, so it will have to wait until I find the rest.

Gosh, I haven't purged for a few weeks now. Have to get back to it. Our wardrobes are due for a good shakedown.

does anybody else not have the memory or patience to actually count items?

i can count trash bags, but individual units of things? AAAGH!

my accomplishments today:

decluttered hall closet (linen/medicine cabinet type space)
decluttered storage cubes that are in the living room (these are moving to my office)
FINALLY got rid of our xmas tree! :
decluttered some more toys

all in all, 3 trash bags i think.

I don't have the patience to count!

I take pictures instead. This shows the latest donation pile: http://www.flickr.com/photos/3332963...7613462972105/
Since DH went online to schedule a pick-up, he had to count and he told me it was 10 picture frames (16x20 and larger) and 10 bags/other.

I forgot to photograph all the fabric I recently gave away. I had four 13-gallon kitchen trash bags filled to capacity (I could not lift them). I invited a dear friend over to go through them first and now I have three 13-gallon bags reasonably full (I can carry them now). I'll take these to the community college for the quilting and sewing classes to use.

I've been decluttering like mad, but also bought some stuff , so I will discount my total....

I think I'll say I'm at 700!

Most important, I only have three areas left in my house that are totally embarassingly full of clutter

-- laundry room shelves
--bedroom armoire shelves where tv and vcr used to be
--drawer in bathroom

And the sheds out in the yard, but too snowy to get at that for a few weeks yet.

So I'm almost done round 1 of decluttering, "clear out embarrassing areas" . THen I'll be on to round 2, "go through the house again and pare to the bone!"

Wow, I wish I had started a tally! I haven't been getting rid of as much lately as I was in December & January, but that's also because I did a good job of cutting the fat then!!
There are always the clothes D is growing out of; I want to sell whatever ones are in good enough condition but the secondhand store around here that does that isn't accepting infant clothes until maybe April. The majority of it (an XL tote's worth) is stashed in a closet at my mom's anyway .
And then there are still some things I can't get to move on the DS fsot... even ffs! Much of it will have to go soon. I really think I could get some much-needed cash for some of the stuff if I had a yard sale or something. But I don't really have a yard... . I wonder if the condo association would allow us (or if any of our neighbors would participate!). We are looking for a new place for May 1st so it won't really be the season for it yet.
