Where I am its too cold to clean out my car, garage/basement and we don't have an attic or a crawl space or a shed
Man we're lacking. How about the living room/dining room? I know mine needs to be put back together since the Christmas tree took over the entire space! Well thats my vote, I'll keep watching to see what happens.
i've never joined the room challenge, but i would love to tackle my living room in january! i have so many living room projects "pending" right now . . . the craigslist lamps that need to be spray-painted, the lampshades i need to make, the window treatments, the pictures to hand, the rug (carpet scrap) to be trimmed, the couch to be cleaned (it's filthy) . . . oh yes, my living room needs help right now. let's do it!
hmm.....i was going to say kitchen as we're getting ready for a mini-remodel in ours, but i see you've already done that.
it's much too cold where i am as well for a garage challenge (unheated, detached garage). so i vote for living room/ family room as well! although, i'm new to the challenges you have here and have no idea what the "rules" are! lol! can someone kindly clue me in?? thanks!
I suggest the most messiest room in the house, it could be anyroom, just the most messiest in your house. Start the year off with the one that needs the most work and folks might be more motivated to continue through the other rooms.
I think it's okay to go back through the cycle of rooms since others (including me) have missed out on previous threads plus I'm sure some of the folks/rooms that have already been done could use another challenge.

The rules are, there are none! The challenges just motivate us to do whatever needs to be done in that room, whether it is cleaning or decluttering or decorating.

i LOVE this idea! honestly, my living room doesn't need much, but my kitchen IS getting a complete overhaul, and i wouldn't mind having a place to share the progress.
I love the "messiest room in the house" idea! That way we can all start off the New Year with a clean and organized room! I mean we can get that messy, crazy, scary room under control and the rest of our house will seem nicer too.

Can I join in?? I missed the November Kitchen fun, but that is my worst room. I am headed off now to get started -- inspired by all the photos in the November stickie... Photos to follow.
I want to join! My messiest room is the utility room. We come in and out the back door in there, so its the dumping ground. Plus, its also the pantry and laundry room. Plus, the cats' food dishes and litter box are in there. Plus the deep freeze and the recyling. Its a big room - and all of it is messy!
okay lets see.. we just moved so everything around here is in shambles! The worst room in the house is my future sewing room, it's going to need alot of work since we piled all the boxes that goes into other rooms in there as a staging area.
My plan will be to remove all the boxes that don't belong (they will go to another room, not planning on actually going through any of those boxes... there IS only 31 days this month and I would like to sleep some of the month!) I will go through all my sewing boxes though. I would like to actually set up my sewing space. I need to paint and build some shelving. Organize all my fabric. Purge some of the stuff I really don't need. I want it to be pretty and functonal! Will post pictures of before later this evening when hubby brings the camera home.
I vote family room. It needs some serious attention. Once the tree is down and the presents away (in just a few more days), I need to completely reorganize it.
Living room OR whatever room you deem is the messiest and could use the most help? That sounds really good to me because
I really want to clean up from Christmas but looking around my living room really doesn't have any storage issues just cosmetic ones, so I may be done with it in this first weekend and then be ready to move onto another room that could really use the help! Yay I'm so excited!
