We do halfway open/closed for the main bath that the kids/guests use and keep the master curtain closed. I have it halfway closed because the water drips off better and it dries better when it is not all squashed up (open) but I leave it halfway open instead of all the way closed so that I have a place to sit while I am waiting to wipe bottoms, helping to brush teeth, helping to fix hair, etc.

Another who keeps it closed not to hide the clutter, but to keep the curtain free from mould or slime forming.

It's a Delight-Filled Life.

I have one bathroom that was recently renovated. It's a small bathroom, and I love the way the tiling looks in the shower. I keep that shower curtain open. There's not a lot of stuff in there, since it's mainly the kids' bathroom.

Then we have another bathroom upstairs where the tiling is not particularly attractive, and the shampoo collections look yucky. I bought a shower curtain that I love, and we keep that one closed.

It depends on who showered last. I close it because our shower is totally ugly and no matter how often I clean it looks dirty. DH leaves it open because its one less thing for him to remember to do in the morning and hes always in a hurry (he leaves for work really early so its easy for him not to remember to do something or be running late and in a hurry)

I think it looks better/neater closed as well as drying better and providing less places for spiders to hide.

My family doesn't care (except for me) and they leave it open and as squashed up as possible.

Closed for us--with the bathtoys in a basket in the tub. We have a small bathroom and having the toys out makes it look messy.

at all the axe murderers, I totally follow that logic. I voted open because I think actual curtain shower curtains look messy but if it's a glass screen thats another matter - then it's definitely neater to close it.

Open. When I see closed shower curtains, I always feel like the bathroom is dirty and cluttered, otherwise why would they be trying to hide it?

I voted open! We obviously leave it to dry after use but then leave it open. Our bathroom is so small (4ftx9ft - yes you read it right!!! and there are four of us using it) that with it closed it looks smaller than a cupboard. And all the clutter gets put away after use - well most of it anyway :-)

Closed, so it doesn't get moldy. But I check behind it for ax murderers sometimes.

I don't come here anymore. MDC has become overgrown with ads & useless extra forums.

I like closed so that company can't see all the toys etc left in the tub. If you didn't have little kids, open might be nice too.
