Sorry, I didn't realize it was an unauthorized copy. I don't agree with pirating, either. That being said, I just don't like Amazon having that capability.

Yes, imagine the possibilities. They can dynamically change the book if the author(or other parties) objected to some sections. Poof, the book has been edited in all copies. It would be something completely appropriate for 1984.

I haven't read it in a long time, but I didn't remember it being "about" burning books, it was about thought police, big brother etc, are you sure you aren't thinking of Fahrenheit 451? That was about burning books.

That's why a lot of people like the Kindle. It's not backlit, its designed to be exactly like reading a book - it looks like a sheet of paper.

Yeah, 1984 was Big Brother watching you all of the time.

Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 was about burning books... as in the temperature at which paper burns...
