okay, i'm getting started very late since we had music lessons this morning. so, i will drink tea, and then i'm going to try to do all of these things:

done 1. pot up cuttings + plants

done 2. take out compost

done 3. wash dishes/clean kitchen...including storing soup.

done 4. wash colours

5. whole-house quick pick-up

then i'd like to spend some time doing some sewing with my girls, and get dinner ready. i think i'll make chili. done

(okay, i've done 3 things and now the girls need help...)

- okay, the whole-house pick-up can wait til our bedtime routine. otherwise, done!

seeking, how *do* you de-calcify? pour some dilute vinegar in an boil? or? the water is so hard here, my vases all get lines of white on them, and i have a special steel thing that goes in my kettle to keep it from icing over like the north pole with mineral deposits.

For my coffee maker, I put straight vinegar in the pot up to the 8-cup mark and then run it through the self-clean cycle. Then I have to brew water only all the way to the top twice and it's pretty clean after that.

For everything else, I do the diluted vinegar thing, I guess about 2 parts water, 1 part vinegar and then use that to clean vases, glasses, etc. In extreme cases, like shower heads and the kitchen sink-sprayer, I have to use CLR. I hate that stuff, but it works.

I do this too. Only last night, we were out of all the salad stuff since DH had crapped out on helping me so I could go shopping. When the kids were finally asleep I asked if he wanted me to go and at least get salad stuff and he said no. Later, at 9:45pm, he changed his mind and sent me to store in the rain. With a list. A LONG list. It was almost 11 when I got home and then he wanted me to wash his lunch dishes too and got upset when I wouldn't. I already had to do all the dang salad.

Okay, rant over. Anyway, I only made enough for two days. I was too tired to care about the rest of the week.

So for today...

1. wash and fold diapers IN PROGRESS
2. fold and put away laundry IN PROGRESS
3. vacuum bedrooms
4. look at DS's room, sigh and shake head, groan and close door in utter futility DONE
5. dishes
6. marinate pork chops for dinner
7. order contacts online
8. wash windows in front room & window sills in every room (cats in windows make for dirty sills)
9. dust

How come they call it "dusting" when in actuality we are trying to get RID of the dust? Shouldn't we call it "undusting?" Just a thought...

OMG I don't want to make a list. Just looking for some encouragement, way to keep my sanity. LOL We moved out some furniture a few weeks ago, and I'm re-purposing some other furniture. Of course, we moved out a sofa that's in front of two large windows and I guess we didn't...uh...clean behind it (under it) for a few years. And, with tile somehow everything migrated under there.

The windows are dirty (dingy)...how did it get that much dust LOL. And, of course, there were like 40 cat balls/toys they'd lost under there. I cleaned half (took me about 40 minutes, broke into two sessions) and I swear I'm like DONE! Sigh.

I don't want to go back there! LOL. I'm do tired already, maybe I should make some tea for caffene. We've talked about repurposing that room (we only have a foosball table in there--it's maybe 8' by 8' and right next to the kitchen) and we have company coming over later this week so I need to figure out what to do with it before they're here.

I'd love to get two more 15 minute sessions going in that room. I've already done the laundry (am going to do some sheets soon) and dishes today.

I have retired persian showcats that are used to being bathed, one of them happens to be white...if you add some pink food coloring to their shampoo you get a pink cat.

Check out my thread, if you do a search you'll find it in the pets forum (search pink cat melody). I have pictures posted there.

Oh, and it's VERY temporary. Like two shampoos. She's very white at the moment. My daughter wants to show her, so she's going to be staying white only for a while.

Just got the kids back from school, maybe they'll help after they get their homework done.

Got another 15 minutes in....cleaned the other window, took out baking soda in an effort to scrub some 'stains'...I think it's just really old stained caulk. It didn't improve that much with cleaning, whoever did it was just sloppy! I probably need to get a softer straight edge and peel it off or something.

I have to vaccum the blinds, but now taking a break and making tea. The baby is sleeping so I don't want to vacuum anyhow.

Maybe it was my DH. He's the sloppiest caulker I know.

Tea sounds really good. Maybe I'll make some decaf Earl Grey this evening.

So far I've:

Done 3 loads of laundry
Got food out for dinner {big one for me - I tend to forget until the last minute}
and moved DD's playhouse to a spot with more light so she will play in it.

still on the list:

Mow the lawn
clean in garage in prep for yard sale
and more laundry

I have gotten SO behind lately.

I need to make the bed and fold/put away (gasp) 3 loads of laundry.

I need to wash the dishes.

I need to clean/clear the counter, table and coffee table.

I need to do 3 five minute room rescues.

I need to swish and swipe the bathroom.

Also, I need to put away the clean dishes and give the dish strainer a good cleaning.

Currently I have a load of towels in the washer.

well I can now scratch mowing the lawn off my list today - I can't start the mower. Normally I pay to have it mowed, but can't afford it anymore and the darn mower doesn't want to start.
