My mother is retired. Has a decent income. She loves to clothes shop. New, consignment or thrift, it doesn't matter. The thrill is in the hunt for her

For awhile though it was getting out of hand. I would fear her visits (she lives three hours away) because they would come with giant bags of clothes for me and the girls. I had a heart to heart with her a few months ago and told her that I love how she gets us these things but storage for things that my oldest can't wear for another TWO years is getting impossible while keeping hand me downs for dd#2. I then showed her our storage bins piled floor to ceiling in our basement despite her bad knees to prove my point. (Since that conversation, dh and I purged and its no longer that bad).

I have to share a recent e-mail from my mother She called me the other day saying, "I'm in the store and found an awesome jacket. It's a size 10..." Dd#1 is size 7 right now. Here is a portion of her e-mail:
Quote:
Regarding the snowjacket--I upgraded --the coat sold for 90 dollars and was reduced to 40 dollars. I was able to use my senior discount of 15 percent on top of that. I will put it in the guest room closet till you want it.
She's figured it out!
