My next goal is to straighten up the kitchen, living room and dining room. Not big cleaning, just making it look better.

I'm going to set the timer for 15 minutes and work my way around the first floor...

Did 15 minutes. The living room is neat enough that I wouldn't mind people seeing it. I picked up the stuff on the dining room floor. I ended up spending five minutes of my cleanup time sweeping up the contents of a huge box of beads that my friend's toddlers spilled on the floor (we're watching them).

Thanks Poetry! I hope my SIL likes it, she is a bit of a pain (doesn't think hand made things are "good enough" for her) so who knows. We do read scriptures together each morning but I don't follow a devotional plan per say, I just read 5-8 pages out loud while the girls listen/play/color/eat etc. I do my own personal time where I have the manual printed for a class at BYU (Brigham Young University, we are Mormons) that I use to study while I'm reading. It helps learn things better.
Crabby kids explained, both woke up with a high fever and coughing last night so I'm pretty sure they caught a cold. DD1 is not the crabby type and usually DD2 can be calmed so I'm glad that there was a reason neither would calm down yesterday and the day before. I'm exhausted though from staying up most of the night with them.

Today I'm going for maintenance instead of trying to get things done. I want to try to:
- clean up the playroom
- clean the bedrooms

That is it. The girls are probably going to want my attention the entire day so I'm not planning on getting much done.

OkiMom, I hope your girls feel better soon.

I was getting overwhelmed looking at everything I need to do before DSD arrives, so I'm focusing on just the things I need to do by tomorrow evening when our dinner guests arrive. DH is working alongside me, so maybe it won't be as overwhelming as it seems.

Plus I need to do my daily tasks:

make the bed
tend to major blowout--clothes and toys in the washer and a bath for babe!!
fold/put away a load of laundry
soak a load of diapers and wash them this evening
put away/wash dishes

scoop the litter box
clean a couple large plastic toys
clean the dish strainer
put the baby bathtub in the utility room
clean all mirrors
Dust the living room
clear both dressers in the bedroom
clear changing table in the bedroom
Call the Volvo dealership to get the code DH needs for the radio
Bake the carrot cake
Start dinner

Fill glass jars I've been saving with beans/grains/nuts/seeds/etc.
Vacuum Living room and bedroom
Clean the refrigerator
Clean Bathroom

Poetry you are getting a heap done!

Today so far I have:

Washed one load
Hung out two loads (one from yesterday)
Made 4 beds
cleaned computer screens and mouses

I still have DS home sick with whooping cough, he is in the convalescent phase though, and DH works from home so I am going to go for a walk and enjoy the sunshine, before tackling any more housework.

So far Ive:
wiped down the sinks
did dishes
folded and put away the laundry
set a load to soak (Dh got me a new snowman apron, mitt, dish clothes and tea towels, I figured since the red fabric was NEXT to white it would be save to throw it all in together.. the red bled horribly!)
cleaned the girls room and the master bedroom.
Hall and playroom cleaned up

Its nap time.. while the girls nap Ill either nap as well or work on schedules. DD1 has asked if I could set one up "so I know whats happening next". This kid definitely has her mom's type A personality

Sigh. It's only Tuesday night, and DH and I did some big cleaning over the weekend, but it's a mess again right now. DS didn't sleep well at all last night, which kept me from evening cleanup and then the kids and I were out all day today. Sigh again. Oh, and DH put out mousetraps under the stove because he thought he heard a noise, and sure enough, caught a mouse. Urgh. (Apartment building, and we well know they live in the building. We can't get them out of the building, but we need to keep them out of our apartment!) He'll be doing a steel wool and duct tape project this weekend!

I NEED to:
Sweep and quick mop
Dishes
Bathroom quick wipe down
Trash out
Recycling out

Tomorrow, I'd like to clean out where he caught the mouse and see if I can spot the entry point. They've gotten in by the sink before. I think this might be holes behind the HVAC. Real mop, laundry, and aquarium touch up.

Happy with my DH, 2 kids, dog, fish, and frogs

I'm gonna put on some pants (cold in my skirt) and clean our bathroom...

This is a tree on fire with love, but it's still scary since most people think love only looks like one thing instead of the whole world. *

Our mice are getting in through gaps around the plumbing. I steel-wooled myself yesterday afternoon. Happily, I think it's all fixed up now.

I'm planning on leaving the humane traps out for a couple weeks though. (If we had a major infestation, I would resort to snap traps, but I'm hoping not to have to kill anything (yes, I'm a wimp.) The baby mouse found yesterday is still alive, and the bait in the trap was snacked on, but the trap wasn't triggered. Still watching to see what happens.

I need to go check my water heater as it appears that I have no hot water at the moment. I really need to do some laundry and while most things are ok washed on cold, linens and diapers need hot water.

Hot water back, and I started some laundry and will finish cleaning the bathroom when I make headway on the laundry. I need to fold/put away, but I've been lazy about it.

Good morning. Today I:

*made breakfast
*got DD off to school
*cleared the kitchen (dishes rinsed, counters clean)
*wiped down the bathrooms
*straightened the living room
*made the bed
*recentered myself spiritually. I had been off path.
*made lunch
*took out the trash
*started washing clothes
*tutored
*made dinner
*cleared the kitchen (dishes rinsed, counters clean)

I plan to study tomorrow. I have really fallen off this wagon, but my allergies have been acting up and I've been zonked. I will try again tomorrow.

How do you cross things off your cleaning list? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks!

We go with very strong snap traps, which at least kill fast/instantly. We're in NYC, there's no where we could release them outside; no where that mice can really live happily outside here. (There are rats out there!) They are in the building walls and in the basement, but it's a 200 year old building with restaurants on the ground floor, so I think it's to be expected. And I can't see returning them to the basement! I think the Super would be pretty with that! We're on a high floor, so we usually only get them when there are renovations chasing them out of their usual basement homes. I'm afraid they'll find something that makes them happy to stay though.

Bathroom clean and bed remade after washing linens for the second day in a row (waking up to a child vomiting ON you is No Fun At All!).

Kitchen clean and dishes away- dinner prep mostly done, I just have to toss it together later on. That sounds impressive, until you realize I'm making wilted spinach salad for dinner, and that is all.. lol. Yum!

Now- 30 minute nap on couch while the boys have quiet time...

I was hoping the girls just had a quick bug but they were up last night with high fevers and coughs. DH was late to work this morning because our littlest only wanted him to hold her when she woke up the last time. I think I got 3-4 hours of sleep last night, I'm glad I'm use to working on little sleep, at least the Marine Corps taught me that. Who knew the military could teach you things you needed when you became a parent
Todays to dos:
- clean up the mess from last nights dinner, put away dishes, load dishwasher.
- straighten living room
- sweep living room and bedrooms (did this yesterday but DD1 decided to eat her snack while wandering the house when I was putting DD2 down for her nap)
- clean both bathrooms

- work on Christmas sewing.

Done:
Only thing I have done so far is do some Holiday Helper things.. I went through all the families to see whos close to having their needs met and who isn't. If you all have a chance go to the bottom of the page and check out the Holiday Helper section!
Emptied and reloaded dishwasher, cleaned off sinks and decided on something for dinner. Now Im going to go clean the bedrooms and help the girls put away their toys.

Im going back to sleep until the kids wake up first. I woke hungry, Ive eaten now I can sleep and hopefully they sleep another couple of hours.

Hope your kids are better soon Okimom.

My son is still home from school, he's not feeling sick anymore but such a wretched cough the whooping cough has left him with.

So far today I have..

*made all beds
*done one load washing
*brought in clothes off line and put all away
*hung out washing
*vacuumed
*mopped floors of both kitchens!

Now I am working on weeding out some kids books to donate.

That ended up being more like 15 minutes. I worked on the kitchen: sorted out the mail on the counter, put the clean dishes away, put away the food from breakfast and started washing dirty dishes.
