Hello everyone....B I hope you are feeling a bit brighter and hope the interview went well.

Poetry I hope you are being easy on yourself. x

Oki take it easy while you have morning sickness...have you tried those seasickness bands around your wrist?

Today I decided to start keeping a diary of my symptoms...eg depression, headaches, etc....so I can try to work out if I am better being on or off the hormone replacement therapy!

I also have decided I need to make more effort to do things that are important to me in my day....things that lift my spirit.

So far today:

washed clothes

folded towels

made beds

made a salad for lunch

decluttered a lot!

made note of symptoms

prepared some of dinner in advance

To do:

cook the dinner

clean up kitchen

hang out washing...which will probably not dry due to the endless rain we are getting! gloomy.gif

knit a bit

You know what's kicking my butt, is the repetitiveness. I just washed the clothes and now I have to wash MORE CLOTHES AGAIN. The sink was clean and now it's dirty. The mail is off the table then it somehow stacks back up. Nothing is ever _done_.

Does anyone have suggestions? How do you feel "done" when it comes to, I guess I'd say, homemaking? I thought doing things 2-5-15 minutes at a time was going to make it easier, and I guess it does, but maybe if I did big dramatic cleaning/organizing I'd feel more of a sense of accomplishment? But then I burn out.  I dunno.

So far I have:

Made and eaten breakfast, made coffee and am still drinking it  :)

Fed the animals

Gotten ds up and dressed, then re-dressed after (another) diaper blow out

Studied for about an hour, whilst entertaining ds

I need to:

Take bags of used disposable diapers to the trash

Clean cats' litter boxes

Get dirty clothes off my bedroom floor

Wash my and dh's laundry, not including delicates

Pick up 2 hotspots: the couch and the coffee table

Break down some cardboard boxes and drop them at the recycling center

Pull weeds

Hey Katie,
I look at it all as cyclical. Just like eating and sleeping. Just doing a little at a time...

I haven't done anything this week.. I did catch the virus thats going around (for the second time, Im just talented) and very quickly realized our bathroom is really NOT big enough... Now my poor husband has it and is sick on his day off so I feel bad for him (he was planning on taking the kids out and spending some daddy/kids time with them- hes pretty upset he can't). My goal today is to do 3 15 minute sessions or as many as my body allows. Im not pushing myself right now, I feel to bad and its really not worth it.

I feel stuck. I feel like whenever I get something clean, I turn my back and its back to square one.

I have dog hair on the rug, dead grass that gets dragged into the house by dogs, kids, people. Nomatter how many times a week I do it, one minute its clean, next we're back.

I feel discouraged and stuck today. lol

DS pulled up and kind of, sort of, stood today!! I have to drop the floor of his Arm's Reach Co-sleeper! Gosh he's getting big...

So far I have:

Breakfast and coffee

2 loads of laundry

Emptied the dishwasher and cleared the sink

Vacuumed the kitchen and hallway (ds sampled kitty food and is a big fan)

Put Frontline on the kitties

Grocery shopping

Set beans to soak for dinner

2 minute hotspot (the couch)

Ate lunch. Am trying not to skip it, it's a bad habit of mine.

NAK.

I plan to:

Bag some packing junk in the back hallway- 15 minutes

Take out trash

Pull weeds

Pick laundry off the bedroom floor- 5 minute room rescue

Find my cellphone, which is MIA and dead batteried

Put laundry away

Clean cat boxes

Wash kitchen counters

Make dinner

2 minute hotspot: coffee table

Euromama, I know exactly what you mean. It feels like bailing in a leaky boat. I am trying to do things that give me a rewarding feeling when they're clean and that I have some control over preventing piling up. DH has two end tables stacked sky-high with books and magazines that I don't know if I should sort/declutter and they're driving me nuts. I know it's irritating to have a pile that LOOKS random but is actually a stack of things you are using.

@Katie - My husband has a shelf right by the front door where all of his stuff is piled up, mail, magazines etc. I hate how it looks, but I figure its his only place in the house (other than on top of his dresser) where he leaves things so I don't want to complain. I used to just clean it up, toss mail, magazines and it would upset him. Now I realized that doing that is a bit controlling on my part. So now I just ask him to clean it up. Sometimes he does, sometimes he forgets.

It drives the OCD person in me nuts. lol

Hi happy March all!! We are approaching Spring jumpers.gif

Thanks for the ant advice two weeks back, I might make some of that bait. I laid down some plan borax but it hasn't helped. A friend who also had an ant issue lately (must be related to the super warm winter we've had!) said that it needs to be boric acid (borax is, I want to say off the top of my head, sodium borate) and brought some over so we laid that down where they seem to be disappearing to/from.

I have been so busy, just barely taking care of things around the house. I am swamped with work, and this is a good thing, but I really look forward to having time for a good cleaning session!! So far this morning I put clean dishes away, wiped down counters, and cleaned out the silverware drawer (which was also home to collected bottle caps I've been saving for my brother- it is truly a wonder there were no bugs in there :P).

I need to do a thorough vacuuming session next. The place is mostly picked up, but I need to get behind *everything* in the living room and then the usual run thru the bedroom. The place is small but with moving the furniture around I expect it to take twenty at my fastest pace. Perhaps I should get some coffee first...

caffix.gif I also want to sweep the kitchen.. and that should be sufficient for this morning!

Our drawers are at the full comfortable capacity, and I like being able to go a week and a half without laundry being crucial, since it is just DD and I and I use a laundromat so it's cheaper to use one of the big machines. I have about two paper bags full already of things I have set aside but not given away yet. We were just given three paper bags full of hand-me-downs in the size she's wearing now. So basically I need to sort thru a ton of clothes and cull ruthlessly because including these new clothes we probably have about double what will fit in her drawers. I need to cull some of my stuff as well, and hopefully pick up some new stuff. In addition to the clothes for donation that are just sitting in a tote, I have some electronics that need to be recycled.

Still want to work out a new furniture arrangement.

Still need to hang curtain rods.

I just don't see how/when any of this is going to happen uhoh3.gif

Fifteen minutes at a time, I guess.

@Euromama: DH has a "study" as well as the living room piles!! lol... I'd like to declutter that, too. But I'm gonna attend to the beam in my eye before I pick at the mote in his, or however that goes!

Spring has sprung here, too! My backyard is beginning to flower, although it's green year-round so it's not like I've been in a winter wasteland ;) I'm so happy to be living where I am. The cool thing about my yard is that we are renting this house and weren't here at this time last year. The owners really did a beautiful job landscaping with perennials and there are things coming up now that I didn't even know lived in the garden- it's like getting presents!

So far I have:

Breakfast/coffee

Taken a shower joy.gif

Bathed ds and wiped the side of the tub during (ooo multitasking)

NAK

Fed the animals

Dosed ds w/ibuprofen, teething sucks

I plan to:

Get ds to nap

2 min hotspot: coffee table

Unload the dishwasher

Strip the bed

Wash matress cover and towels

Remake bed

Take blankets to the laundromat

Take dh's drycleaning in

5 minute room rescue: vacuum back hallway

Reply to an email

FIND PHONE

15 minutes declutter

2 min hotspot: island between kitchen and living room

There is more to do but this is an optimistic list as is  eyesroll.gif

Im pretty excited, our second to last shipment comes either tonight or tomorrow morning.. This one has our washer and dryer in it!! I can do laundry again without having to handwash. Yes, Im a dork, Im excited about doing laundry.. Im also feeling almost human as long as I don't over do it so Im going to try to slowly do a few things.. Plans:

That is so cute!! I remember square dancing in elementary school. Holding hands with the boys! yikes2.gif  lol  Hope she has fun!

Started a load in the dishwasher

I plan to:

Vacuum under both couches

Unload the dishwasher

Do a load of ds's clothes

Put clothes away

Earn some continuing education credits

Buy diapers

Make dinner

Declutter island for 15 minutes

Hot spot:top of baby's dresser

Ive spent the last hour and a half breaking up fights between my oldest two.. and its only 7am. I think its going to be a LONG day.. Could someone send me a little extra patience? I'm going to need to..

To dos.. for today.

Have DH call the moving company to file the claim.. they smashed in the glass on our china hutch, broke the bottom of the washer by dropping it out of the truck and lost 6 BOXES of items. Again, someone send me some patience please.

Have DH mail off a package for me

Room for the day: Master bedroom:

clean out all the laundry and sort so we can go to the laundry mat to wash

try to pick up what remains and find places to put them, set aside anything we aren't keeping (seriously, we have a box in there with a Daddy fryer we haven't used since before DD2 was born, I don't think we need to be keeping it

Set up the bed frame and mattress (we bought a new mattress so hopefully it works well with the frame)

Move in the bookcase and unpack the adult books

clean up the bathroom and put down rugs

measure master bedroom windows for curtains..

Is it bad I'm doing the master bedroom before the girls room? If I don't sleep on a real mattress soon I'm going to lose my mind from being sleep deprived!

Good thing you're doing the master bedroom first. You're expecting!

So far I:
*made breakfast and coffee
*got DD off to school
*took out the trash and wiped down the trash can
*rinsed the dishes and cleaned the counters w/peppermint soap smile.gif
*made the bed
*made lunch and did cleanup
*washed a load of towels
*worked on my assignment
*went to DD's performance this evening smile.gif
*picked up dinner

I hope to:
*get help folding huge amounts of clean laundry

NO it's not bad! Kids like indoor camping. Pregnant ladies do not.

I didn't get much done today.

Let ds try peaches- he's a fan

Cleaned up peaches :)

Made the bed

Drove to meet and interview someone who will be caring for ds while I'm at work

We ate out tonight so no kitchen mess! I feel like a huge slacker. I just felt so tired today. I will do a quick once-over in the kitchen on my way to bed.

Hi everyone! Oki, hugs to you. It's wonderful that you're doing your room first (especially being pregnant), as you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.

I'm sad that I haven't been able to write all week. For Lent I gave up my resistance to writing. So I'm focusing on poetry and starting by creating an extensive idea file. I've found that if I go a couple or few days without writing, I really feel it and I crave it. This week has just not worked out for me. The boys heave woken at the same as me all week long, so I haven't had the alone time in the morning to wrote--and on top of all that, they have not napped consistently all week. I don't know what is up with that! But both the times each day I have set aside for writing have been eaten.:-(

I'll be back to post chores.

So far I have made breakfast & coffee.
