Jumping in with both feet...

Today I have:

  • dressed, made my bed
  • made sure the boys followed their morning routines
  • fed myself and the boys
  • played with the dog so he would stop putting his face on my desk
  • hung our flag
  • talked about the Pledge of Allegiance with the boys, and the National Anthem, discussed how military/civilians stands when the Pledge or Anthem is being said/sung
  • sat right here at this computer for way too long
  • cleaned the kitchen, including dropping the sides of the table and cleaning the crumbs that fall between
  • watched a show will folding laundry
  • lunch
  • homeschool with boys

I should:

  • dust
  • sweep
  • mop
  • vacuum
  • do a basic cleaning of the bathrooms
  • check the laundry status (might have to rewash a load, maybe not...oops)
  • figure out what's for dinner (maybe chicken something?)
  • pick up husband's laundry (he likes to leave it just at the end of the bed, even tho the laundry basket is next to his side of the bed...he will eventually pick it up, and it's not that big of a deal, but it does pile up before he does it)
  • fold sheet/blanket that's been waiting for two days
  • pay the boys for jobs done yesterday (they get paid 30c per job, to be split between saving/spending/giving --- and they do two jobs a day --- they get an extra 50c for spending if they do their routines with minimal reminders)

I want to:

  • take the boys to a new water park thing, it's only $3 for kids to play

We have to:

  • be at swim practice at 530pm

We'll see what happens. But since I've written it here, maybe I'll be motivated to mark things off. :)

as usual for a Monday i did a lot of "small stuff" around the flat ... in order to postpone getting around to learning my dance routine !

- desinfected & scrubbed the dish draining rack (a usual Monday am task if i'm home)

- cleaned the sink

- one load of towels done and hung out to dry

- one load of sheets and pillow cases in the wash

- sprayed EO of lemon + Eucalyptus on bare mattres, let it air for an hour, vaccumed mattress, re-made the bed

- put away clean piles of clothes, re-made pile of T-shirts in DD1 wardrobe

- sorted out yarn

- sorted out currently on-going yarn projects so that i know what to take with me this pm when at a meetup where i can do crochet whilst talking with people

- took a few photos of other completed yarn projects

- made a healthy salad with left overs from the fridge

- defrosted and marinated salmon for tonight

- threw away some stuff and recorded it on the 2012 in 2012 thread

- sent a few e-mails

- wrote a letter (it has the "right" stamp on it, can post it this pm)

- finished wrapping a baby blanket & wrote addresses but need to go to post office for weighing it (= not today)

need to go for a 20 min "power nap" now ....

So, instead of just a migraine I had a stomach flu (I swear this area has something against me, I keep getting sick!) so I was down all weekend.. On the bright side hubby had Friday off so the kids were taken care of.. There is so much to do around here that Im not even bothering with a to do list, it would be to overwhelming.. Ill post what I get DONE instead.. No use making a list that is just going to encourage me to do to much and get sick again (maybe Id stay healthy if I stopped overdoing it before I even feel better)..

So far I have:

taken the trash out

rotated the laundry

folded and put a load of laundry away

ordered hubby's father's day present bag.gif

rotated the laundry and folded another load

cleaned and vacuumed girls room

folded and reput away all the kids clothing..

cleaned up my bedroom and vacuumed

cleaned up baby throw up from all over the bedroom, I guess the flu didn't skip the kids like I had hoped, then put the baby down for a nap. Poor kid is pretty miserable right now greensad.gif

Posted new pictures of the kids on Facebook so the family stops asking

Rotated laundry and calmed the baby down

Fed the girls lunch

Thanks bejeweled, I spent most of yesterday afternoon taking care of the baby and resting.. Hes feeling like himself again (including getting into everything and pulling every can out of the pantry!) so I'm glad it seemed rather minor with him. He doesn't need to be getting sick.. The girls picked up their playroom yesterday and tided their bedroom this morning which is a ton of help for me.. I do love my girls! They are always looking for ways to help out.

Need to try to do today:

gather together the library books and put them aside for tomorrow

dishes

laundry (have about 5 loads to do)

wipe down sinks

clean out pantry

clean out fridge

wipe down microwave

wipe down inside of oven

wipe down stove top

clean off top of w/d and wipe down

clean up the living room

straighten pillows on couches

vacuum living room

sweep/mop kitchen

clean up hallway

vacuum hall

do worksheets with the girls

read library books 1 more time before turning in

reserve a new storytelling kit at the library

make fruit dip

I spent the last couple of days relaxing and recovering.. I lost 10 lbs in a week! No wonder I feel so tired and weak. Its not going to endear me to my OB at my next appointment either, oh well. I'm actually feeling really good today and I have a TON of pent up energy from not doing much so I'm going to try to knock out the cleaning. Hubby has duty tonight so he won't be back until tomorrow. Also, since I was sick last Sunday and couldn't do what I had planned to do for Father's day I'm doing it this weekend.. Need to do some prep work for that as well..

Between today and tomorrow morning I need to:

do dishes

wipe down table/chairs/counters

sweep/mop kitchen

hard boil 1 dz eggs

make deviled eggs and potato salad

make cinnamon rolls (for Sunday)

make rolls (Sunday dinner)

make choc chip s'more cookies for Sunday

defrost the ribs for Sunday

make mashed potatoes (also for Sunday, I'm doing most of the prep work so I don't have to do much on Sunday. I try to keep Sundays light)

clean up living room

vacuum living room

clean entertainment center

give the dog another bath (we are still fighting fleas over here, I'm thinking I'm going to end up having to have the house bombed)

clean up and vacuum hall

clean hall bath and mop

clean playroom, vacuum, lay down rug

clean girls room, vacuum

clean master bedroom

make bed

clean master bath

clean off end tables and dresser

make apron for Father's Day gift

make cards for Father's Day

make sign (kids want to do a "foot print" sign to hang, this should be fun:))

sweep porch

give dog flea preventative even though it doesn't seem to be working all that well, hes still COVERED in fleas, even after multiple flea baths and tons of doses

Finish living room curtains and hang, that might just make my husband pass out from the surprise!

That should be all.. I hope :)

What a fun thread - I have been doing the 15-minute clean up/declutter sessions for years (FlyLady was my hero when my kids were younger) - so i hope you all don't mind my jumping in here to celebrate with you all!

So far today I have:

-organized my recipe book

-folded 3 loads of laundry

-did 15 minutes of clean-up in the kitchen

other plans:

-bake bread

-sort boy's clothes into sizes & put in bins for later use

-move DS3's stuff into DS'1's room (we are swapping 3 bedrooms here, that will be the first part of the move!)

Being pregnant, and nesting all the time, the 15 minute sessions are really helpful - it MAKES me rest in between & not work too hard, plus it makes me feel productive.

I am having a hard time making this a habit. I seem to have developed CFS over the last few very stressful years but no insurance to see a dr and get it figured out, but I am left with muscle weakness and constant fatigue, among other things. Lately this combined with the heat, busy life, and 3 active boys I am having a hard time getting myself to do anything but spend too much time on the computer. So I am going to attempt to jump back in a follow through this time.

Today I have:

*made breakfast

*gone to the grocery store

*made lunch

I hope to:

*wash dishes

*make dinner

*sort clothes to put in storage (or atleast get started)

*vacuum

*clean atleast 1 bathroom

*go to the bank and get water

Hi maciasl. CFS must be really hard. 10-15 minutes are manageable for me. Anything more and I start feeling overwhelmed. I hope it works for you too. A lot of times I feel like I'm getting nothing done, but then I update and review my list, and I'm usually pleasantly surprised at how the little bits add up.

Hello everyone...I really need to get back here and get some semblance of order in my house again. I realised last night that if someone was going to come in and assess the house on cleanliness I would have got an epic fail!

So today I have done:

vacuumed up and downstairs

vacuumed staircase

mopped up and downstairs

washed one load and hung out to dry

dusted and vacuumed DD's room

SAHM to three

didn't clean any single thing last night ... DH let the children go to bed without picking up the floors ....

did just one load of laundry last night & put it up on the drier

have just desinfected the toilet (still having the same problems with accumulation of liquid near the hinges ... must write it on my monthly list "unscrew toilet seat, desinfect, rince, let dry, mount it up ... and need to put these weekly and monthly lists somewhere more accessible so that i can work on them throuough the week instead of only feeling bad about not doing much .....)

cleared the sink from late last night & shined my sink

baked some stuff

need to go to market and come back and prepare two salads,

... instead of loitering on the computer ....

bejeweled, I'm glad your daughter is feeling better. That's my oldest daughter's favorite smiley as well

I got basically everything done today but take a shower.. I'm taking a bath, soaking for a while and relax.

Tomorrows to dos:

clean fridge

clean microwave

clean stove top

clean oven, run self clean

wipe down tops of washer and dryer

Sweep/mop kitchen

try to make the curtains for the living room (nope, still not done)

wash living room windows

dust window ceils

vacuum inside of couches

vacuum house morning/night

inventory and measure at least 1 box of fabric

cast in for shawl I'm making for myself

Figure out what still needs to get done for the school year and figure out when I'm going to get it done. We want to start late July/early August

watch Army Wives hide.gif
