I tried reading through to get to the end of the last thread, and got dizzy! It was so fantastic to see everybody motivating each other, and I love how easy things become when they are broken into 'chunks.'
Here are my sessions, I am kid-free while they are at their dad's, and trying to get motivated!
(Please kids no more peeing the beds or I'll have more wash to do. 3 out of the last 4 nights kids have peed the beds and 2 or them are still in diapers. I need to go buy some overnight diapers I guess.)
I have only managed to put chicken wire around my favourite pear tree (it gives delicious, sweet but firm pears in August-September...sadly I don't know the name of the tree) and proof read a hand-in for Monday.
I had planned to do a load of laundry...but just can't seem to get my butt downstairs to see to it.
Sorry for not checking in! My week got derailed by my partner's family drama; he has been torn up, distant, and ineffectual so I have been trying to give him space. And of course my XH takes this week to start mucking with his custody schedule (which HE sets, since I am self-employed and make my own hours, but I still need to know when to schedule!).
So, I have finished;
~Keeping up with dishes
~Keeping up with laundry
~Staying on top of my bare bones work schedule
~Seriously, my house is clean and everybody is getting fed on time!
~Revamped my sewing room (with a HUGE AMOUNT of my partner's help )
~Had a LONG talk with my roommate about my depression, and how I need to kick my own butt.
Today I have to;
~get to a point where I can fit the two formal dresses I have due next week, so I can finish them
~Come up with something distracting to do with partner tonight after my fitting
~Dust the whole house
~Order prints for frames that are empty all over the house...

i'm finding the 10 min sessions totally doable. It's the deep cleaning and larger projects (cleaning out closets, tackling bookshelves, toy bins) impossible. One step at a time!

I don't manage it all. Many of my tasks carry over to the next day or even a few days til they get done. I just chip away, a little bit at a time. 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there. I'm really trying to embrace FlyLady's advice that even housework done incorrectly still blesses your family. The last few years I've gotten so caught up in it being done perfectly or "efficiently" (just touching paper once, etc) that it stopped me from doing some tasks at all and getting overwhelmed.
The landlord dropped by yesterday while I was gone and said she was coming by today to do an inspection so my parents (visiting from CA!
) and I cleaned the heck out of the house from top to bottom. Laundry done, dishes, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbed the bathtub, toilet, sink, kitchen sink, everything. Whew!
So my mom, the HGTV addict, shared this tip with me. I was freaking out about the inspection today because my son scribbled all over the walls with pens and pencils. Squirt a little toothpaste on the spot and scrub it with a sponge. It comes right off!

Anyone have a tip for getting crayon off painted walls?
