Ok, can someone tell me what to do with this/convince me to throw it away?

We have a portable DVD player that my mom and her husband gave to us 2 years ago. The reason they gave it to us is because it is a 6-7 hour drive to their house and they thought it would be nice to have for ds on the car ride (which we do about 6 times/year). It was - it was great...until it stopped working about a year after they gave it to us. We only ever used it in the car therefore it was used about 6 times. So I know it's silly but I feel uncomfortable just throwing it out since it was used so little and because of who gave it to us. But I doubt it's worth fixing. When we do the drive now we just bring the laptop and play dvd's on that.

What would you do with it?

ebay... other people who are willing to pay cheap and fix it will buy it. You'd probably only get like 5 bucks, but that's more than you had before. And it's one less thing in the landfill.
