I have a gazillion books and I have GOT to get rid of some of them. I take a lot to exchange at a used bookstore, but they don't always have a lot of books I want. So, does anyone know where I can donate them? I refuse to throw them away (GASP)!!!

Do you have a local thrift store you can donate to? Sell them on Ebay? Sell/FFS here on the Trading Post?

I just got rid of a bunch through Freecycle. The people that took mine did actually want them but I had other people say they worked for a nursing home and wanted them for the residents. I Freecycle.

We donate our old books to the library or thrift store.

Our library takes donations, both to use as library books and to sell in their book sale, depending on the condition.

I have had luck selling some of my more popular books on Half.com and they also let you list books for sale on Amazon. We usually donate most of our books to the library though.

When we have too many books, we just build more shelves!

If you want to get rid of them, the library is a great place to donate, especially if yours has a book sale. They use the proceeds from those sales to better the library.
