I've been dealing with 30+ years of pictures and children's artwork from my MIL, who left all of this stuff in boxes when she moved across the country. It really sucks to take care of a housefull of stuff when its not yours.

Anyhoo, DH has a fond attachment to EVERYTHING mom saved for him, artwork, papers, awards, etc and he refuses to declutter. I have found a cheap ($10) scrapbook is PERFECT for holding these papers. Its acid free and the pages are larger than notebook size. His army men pictures and nerdy awards are proudly displayed.

I am also using the scrapbooks to hold 8x10 and 5x7 portraits of DH and his brother growing up. Its easy to just slip them in (I am definately not the type of person who scrapbooks).

Thanks for the tip, and also for the perspective. As I sort through all my kids' artwork and mementos, I keep telling myself it would be unfair for me to dump this big mass of stuff on them when they are adults, and that I need to be selective and organize anything I keep!
