setting upu the yard sale today...so I'll have a pretty good count by tonight...
to my total I can add 5 baskets, a sheet set, pair of curtains, 4 containers and three binders full of old bank statements...have gone paperless and am shredding the old!!! WOW...that's a whole file drawer out of the desk!!!
don't know what my total number of items came to, bu tI did get rid of LOTS of junk in the basement...it's great now!!! and made over $200 which is good for our area. From here on out, it'll be monthly trips to a donation station!!!
YIPPEE...got rid of lots of stuff dragging us down!!!
We started putting stuff out on Friday night. Saturday was supposed to be perfect garage sale weather.
I got up at 6 and it started raining. It stopped around noon. Fortunately we hadn't put out any electronics. We got a few rushes of customers. DH was telling people that everything was 25 cents.
All told I think we made about $45, after we counted our advertising costs. There is lots more room in the basement now. I'm going to bag up the rest of the baby clothes for the Salvation Army. Some stuff is going straight to the dump.
On a bright note, I sold my barely used Boppy to a mama who is going to be nursing her new baby (She's having a girl).
I know June is almost over, but I'm in, at least to get started (I'll shoot for 50 things).
So far this month we have given away 13 books and a humidifier. I'm going to bring old silverware to my workplace to use in our kitchen there. Should that count as one thing or does each fork and spoon count separately?
thalia loves Jesus and DH wordyeight and DD#1 : 8/2007 and DD#2 9/2010 and remembering: little turtle 5/23/2006 and poppyseed 7/15/2009
DH took a buch of stuff to the dump. I organized all the canning jars I've been collecting, boxed up for recycling the ones that shouldn't be used and we bought shelving. I'm very pleased by how we're doing. DH seems to be on board.
I also found a taker for maternity clothes that never fit me to begin with (I didn't buy them, they are hand-me-downs I'm passing along). Big shopping bag of stuff-GONE.
