i don't know how it happened (ok, i do...he's the baby of the family, and people are constantly buying him stuff. dh and i are guilty too...), but, we are being over run with toys. ds is 13 months old, and i am in the process of going through the toy boxes (plural...we have 6 at our house, plus several at my sisters' houses.) to get rid of things he doesn't play with, or has outgrown. having said that, there are still going to be a good amount of toys left. i have put his blocks in a plastic tub with a lid, his puzzles in another, etc. i am thinking that i am going to get some more totes for his board books, his musical instruments, etc. is that being too organized for his age?
(people are always giving me a hard time about trying to over organize everything, so i'm trying to figure out if this is an over the top solution for a little toddler.)he kind of enjoys dumping out the whole toy box every time he wants to play, but it makes a huge mess, and he doesn't seem to concentrate on any one thing that way. what do other moms of little ones do to organize the toys? i'll be more careful in the future about not buying so much stuff, but i'm not going to get rid of things he actually likes, so that isn't an option for now.
