So, my Dh and I spent a couple months decluttering our house from top to bottom, and I do mean every cupboard, drawer, shelf, and box in every room of the house.

We cleaned everything as we went, storing what we didn't want in a room in our basement, then we priced it all and hauled it upstairs for a two day garage sale. The first day, we made $550!

We can really use the money, but more than that, our house is decluttered.

We hope to sell a few more things, then most of what's left is going to consignment shops, then we're inviting friends to come take what they want, then the rest will go to Goodwill.

If anyone is wanting to declutter, it's so worth it to do it; and, for us, we actually enjoyed much of the process--once we finally got started.

That's awesome! The decluttering itself is a nice reward, but the money is like icing on the cake

This is what we are in the middle of doing. Luckily we have a fulla ttic that we never use so as I declutter I am storing everything upstairs on one side. This way has been working so good. Realisticly I will probably continue throughout the winter and hopefully have a garage sale next spring, after one full year of decluttering. Already it looks amazing. My project this week is to go through clothes. We have so many and Olivia has out grown some so we definetly need to downsize. I had DH bring down one long dresser to store her fall clothes and we do have another extra dresser if we need it, but I really want to cut back.

That is a two in one reward. A clean declutter house plus extra money. Congratulations on both.

Way to go on your sale! We are planning one for Labor Day weekend. We had one 2 yrs. ago on Labor Day weekend and did very well with the college students arriving in town that weekend looking to furnish their apartments! Hope it goes that well this time around.
