mine are taking up space in my pantry, the shelf over the laundry area, my hall closet and the closet in the computer actually has a rubbermaid type storage tote storing empty boxes.
they seem so wasteeful to through out but their actual use is limited by their uglyness and non transperancy.
I have a small ebay business and my DH and I have gotten in the habit of saving ALL cardboard boxes for shipping items to customers. Even though we receive free packing materials through the USPS, these boxes come in handy for items that I ship FedEx. We keep a shelf in the garage that we designate to organize all the boxes so that they are out of the house handy when needed.
Flatten them and store them behind things in the closet. Doesn't take much space.
Small boxes (usually used for mailing things) are the only ones I keep sitting around in their full-size state.
