My daughter and I share a room. I have a King-sized 4-poster (leftover from the co-sleeping days), and she has a twin-sized loft, a steamer trunk (for clothing storage) and a doll cradle.
There is definately room for all of our furniture, but I need some help to "deliniate" the room into her part and my part.
If you didn't want to actually divide the space you could segregate the room into your "area" and her "area", by using a rug, et cetera.
For instance, since your bed is (presumably) the biggest piece of furniture in the room, maybe you could put a rug beside it, and make that your area, while the rest of the room is her area?
