DH doesn't believe the house is neater... - Mothering Forums

since we added more shelving, etc. I have been slowly (5 years) reorganizing our house and stuff (and getting rid of some). I have bought strategic storage items and also had DH install shelving in a few closets and the laundry room. And we have added DD who is 2.5 now. I really think the house is in great shape considering what it was like, especially since we have added another person. I told him we have to 'finish the job' before the next person is added in May. He says why? I said, well don't you think the house is more organized now than before? We are adding someone else, we need to finish the shelving in closets and purge our (his) clothes and make room. He thinks it isn't any better than it was 5 yrs ago when we moved in! How can he not notice!!!! Grrrr.... Granted our house wasn't insanely cluttered, but there were definitely lots of items w/o homes that just kinda floated around the house that were always in the way, and closets that we were afraid to open....

Anyone else's DH not notice the positive changes?

When I am organizing and purging my dh will make me look like this when he says "I can't find anything". WTH??? So when junk is scattered everywhere you can find things??? He is a packrat when it comes to the garage. At thank goodness it isn't attached to the house. It is always a mess to the point of not being able to WALK thru it. But sure honey I can see how you couldn't find the bandaids in the organized medicine cabinet just because I moved them up a shelf!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Men! I feel your pain momma.
