Jumping in this thread a little late, but here goes:

I took 6 bags of stuff to Goodwill two weeks ago, 3 bags last week (paper sacks), and I've cleared out one big trash bag full to take today.

I've also thrown out four bags of stuff.

What I really want to do is that "Clean Sweep" type thing where you take EVERYTHING out of the room and ONLY put back in what has to be there. I did that with the living room and family room and it's been great. Okay, good anyway since there are still things in the garage that I need to go through.

i spent all day yesterday going through ds's clothes in preparation for making room for new baby's stuff. i am glad i did this now, and didn't wait til next month like i originally planned - i got rid of 115 items, and that was after keeping a whole wardrobe for another boy (if that's what we have) for the first two years, for all seasons : both sides of our families have been totally nuts over the last 18 mos. buying clothes from thrift stores (or occasionally new) for ds. i knew it was bad, but i just kept putting it in boxes into the closet- i didn't realize how bad it really was until now. this stuff is going to once upon a child this week - and it is a huge weight off my back!

and now there is almost enough room in the nursery for all of ds's items as well as new baby's (clothes, diapers, rocker, etc.). i am still trying to figure out how i am going to store two different diaper sizes.

old total was 235,new total is 350.

My dh is totally awesome. He dug out the floor in our basement (pic in the blog) this weekend! It seems like half our garage is full of garbage to take to the dump (and seriously, garbage - we burn papers in our burn barrel or wood stoves). The plan is to turn the basement into a toy/playroom, especially during the summer (it's mostly below ground, so nice and cool).

I've got one bag of 40some books to donate to the library (and when I was kidless running errands yesterday they were closed! Argh!), put together a box for Goodwill, and two garbage bags of stuff to toss. Need to tackle our closets where I 'store' the laundry I haven't folded yet. I'm an awful housekeeper sometimes...

Wife to an amazing hubby, mother hen to four chicken3.gif
(If you're curious, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2010, and yes, it's a busy house)

I threw out some stuff, including an old pillow, a dead plant and an alarm clock. I have some stuff set to go to donation and packages set to mail but I hurt my back picking up laundry so hauling will have to wait a few days. I did get my maternity clothes repacked should I have another little one though.

Dh and I are doing this right now!

We are using a large bedroom for the "Clutter Zone" We are gutting the house with the goal of eliminating 50% of what we currently own. We started today!

So far.....we have bagged up 3 kitchen size bags of trash.

Mama to 9 so far:Mother of Joey (20), Dominick (13), Abigail (11), Angelo (8), Mylee (6), Delainey (3), Colton (2) and Baby 8 and Baby 9 coming sometime in July 2013.   If evolution were true, mothers would have three arms!

1-Old Bath Scrubby
1-bra

Donate:
5-Gift Bags
1-Griddle
1-George Foreman

Recycle:

Two kitchen cabinets freecyled today. And they are hoping to come back to 3 more. Actually one is this huge display thing that I think should count for like at least 3 things it takes up so much room. But I am hoping that they actually do want them and come and take them. Our garage will actually have the room to start decluttering it then. Though I am not sure I am going to start it until it warms up, brrrrrrrrr

Things have really slowed down since my paid work has started in earnest. I feel l like my life is constantly on the brink of disaster. So getting rid of a few things here and there feels like I'm doing something to rein in the disaster.

Here goes:

Trash:

16 non working pens
1 leaky bubbles container for blowing bubbles
1 opened pkg of bubble bath that was leaking on things
2 ancient condiments from fridge

Gave away:

1 top
1 pr pants
1 cookie sheet
1 pr mitts
1 baby headband
5 pr socks

Recycled:

4 magazines

For a new total of 94/150.

It's kind of depressing that I"m at 94 items and yet there is still so much stuff in this house: If only we could get rid of the treadmill that would be only one item, but a lot of room!

i hear ya'll on those BIG items! I've got a drumset in my kitchen and i want it gone sooooo bad. unfortunately i need to sell it not give it away. (i'll sell it pretty cheap though) i just looked up the number to post it for sale though...

today was trash day so i can add another pile to my tally
1 nasty old pool float
1 box of random trash (including more boxes and the handle to a vacumn i don't have anymore, hairbows from when olivia was wee bitty, etc)

i almost accidentally threw away the handle to kurts jack though and that makes me feel kind of nervous...fortunately trash pick-up was delayed due to the holiday so i can double check the stuff

we've got a nasty old george forman grill that never got cleaned after the last time it was used. (i know, eewwwwhhh! ) i think kurt is going to clean it and try to sell it.

ok i'm off to bump my tp stuff and call to sell the drums whoo-hoo!!
