Welcome to the MARCH decluttering challenge!!
If you participated in last month's challenge, feel free to share your accomplishments & what you'd like to do differently this month.
Post your goal- whether it is number of items gone, number of bags, rooms, whatever works for you
Are there items that haven't been used in a long time, are just taking up space, or have been outgrown? Time to get those outta there!
Last month I met my goal of 250 items. I think I reached 280 or so, so I was pretty psyched about that
This month I'm going to shoot for 300 items.. I know my laundry room will add quite a few to my total
my goal is 1000...i made it yesterday and i already chunked 252 things...well recycle, toss, goodwill, give away! i didn't know how much stuff i had...i was ready to move into a bigger house...now i'm thinking about downsizing!
Another bag of stuff gone to Freecycle, and finally some papers recycled! I'm also adding in a new category for baby clothes, because I discovered last night that we have waaaaaaay more than needed!
I organized my basement today but only got rid of two things. LOL I'm still only one away from my goal! I hope to list a few more things on Craigslist.
I cleaned out the car today for an upcoming trip. When we get our oil changed, they will wash it AND vacuum it for me, included in the price, if it is where they can. Good incentive to get it done today
So from my car today:
127 trash
I can't believe there was this much junk in there!!!
and 32 items relocated to their homes in the house (toys, sippy cups, etc.)
So my total is 272/250!!! Woohoo, I made it. After we get back from our trip, I may add a bit more. We'll see how worn out I am from our mini vacation
Alright, I'm joining in. I've been getting rid of stuff all month, but I haven't been keeping track. I was going to set my goal for 100, but I think I can do better then that. So 200 items, before the end of the month, starting yesterday. I have ten for yesterday and 15 today for a total of 25.
I'm at my Mom's in Texas and I just (conservatively) got rid of 183 items from the garage! Now off to the storage room!
Quick question, what do you do with old trophey's? I have trophey's from 6th grade through high school, I feel weird throwing them away, but I don't really want them, what do you do??
Thanks!
i actually took a carload of stuff to good will the other day.
today is laundry folding day so i'm considering that de-cluttering for the day. get those overflowing baskets out of the living room and those clothes put away... YAY!
posted a few more things to craigslist.
haven't touched the e-bay closet. (maybe that could be next month's room challenge?
: when do we vote on that?)
i am in the middle of 12 straight days wohming w/ no day off. so i have been slow...
still feel very encouraged even though i'm doing more lurking than de-cluttering
We finally got to that last basket of clothes that kept getting put off being folded as well as some of the regular laundry. Some of the clothes had been washed as far back as December
Dh had been wondering where all his sock were, and had even bought more because he figured I had purged all the holey ones and he didn't have any left
Nope, he has TONS of socks, they just never got folded or put away with all the holiday and company commotion.
So adding to my list:
1 ignored basket of clothes folded
22 holey, dirty, or unmated socks gone

There are charities that take them to give out. I know there's a place that teaches people with disabilities to ride horses. They take old trophies to give to the participants. I can't think of it off hand, but maybe you could google it?
plus 25 items from cleaning out our van
one Easter basket- freecycled
one Easter egg dying kit- freecycled
=87
& more to come, since today is a snowday!
i got rid of 390 things today...clothes, shoes, baby things, and "junk" most of it i'm going to be able to donate and alot i was able to recycle! i feel so good about today! i'm on a cleaning high!
Thanks for the trophey info! I'll have to look it up!
I just got finished decluttering the stuff my parents have been storing for me! I got rid of 220 more things! YEA! When I get home, If I can get motivated enough to really work on the basement I know I'll get to my goal!!!
