Am I the only one who has made up (totally arbitrary) rules for myself when keeping track of how much I get rid of?

For example, if I throw away a sock without a match, it counts as one. If I then find the match, I also count it as one. Then if I throw away a pair of socks, it also counts as one.

If I finish a jar of pickles and recycle it, I don't count it. If I recycle the jar of pickles that has been in the refrigerator since 1994, I count it. (OK, so not 1994. 2005 maybe. : )

Plus, as the year progresses, I am sure I will start counting more things so I can make my goal.

Anyone else?
