Thanks to your inspiration -- I'm a long-time lurker and one-time poster -- I spent an hour de-cluttering our cedar closet.
I can't BELIEVE some of the stuff I was hanging on to...
I think the absolute worst was a pair of garden clogs from Land's End... they didn't fit, and so I'd kept them, in the original box with packing materials, intending to return them... FOR SEVEN YEARS! I looked at the packing slip -- ship date June 2000! I tossed them in the Goodwill bag. How embarassing!
Two bins of painting clothes and maternity clothes went out to the barn.
Three bags of stuff went to Goodwill.
Four items' original owners were contacted re: returns.
One item was offered to a new owner.
All craft/knitting materials were boxed, labeled and put on shelves.
It looks *much* better in there now.
Thanks again! I wouldn't have done it without you!
p.s... I sorted socks yesterday, ruthlessly throwing out singles... then today, at the bottom of the cedar closet, where it had been for over a year, I discovered... a gigantic
bag of unmated socks (many of whose matches I'd finally relegated to the trash yesterday.)
But you know... instead of feeling worked up about it, which I probably would have before hanging out here, I feel... fine! So thanks again!
