ooh! i've skipped a few months. i'll join in this time!!! My goal is to get the filing cabinets going. Maybe i can toss 500 papers and file another 100?
Count me in! My goal is to get rid of everything in my garage! I have so much to sell and give away from Junes Decluttering Challenge. I will also make a new goal to throw away 200 paper items and finally file all lose paper and to toss/give away 10 additional things daily
I'm in! I need the motivation this month. I feel like I'm almost done decluttering, and baby will be born in Sept, so I'm really slowwwwing down now. But there are so many places I forgot about checking, like a desk in our basement, that need attention. I feel like if I don't get to it now, I'll *never* get to it...
- Clean out the den- shred or organize bills and papers
- Purge clothes post-baby that will never fit again
- Clean basement (this is stuff that I never unpacked from my move 4 years ago)
- Organize basement with shelving and storage
- Purge old magazines
- Clean out the linen closet- donate old blankets and sheets
- Organize bathroom closet, toss old meds and beauty products
- Declutter kitchen of appliances never used anymore
- Continue to purge book throug PBS.
I crossed a few things off my list last month, but still have a lot to do. Unfortunately, it's 90+ degrees here this week and, while we have A/C, I'm not super motivated.
I'm also thinking about selling my maternity clothes. I definitely plan on having another, but, really, what are the chances I'm going to want to wear the same clothes again (I can't even imagine putting on a certain pink top I wore continuously for the last weeks of m my pregnancy)? Will they be in style? Or in good condition? Plus, I could be hugely pregnant during a completely different season.
I need to join in this month. I was very good and got a bunch of stuff out the door yesterday, but there's a ton left in the basement that still needs to find its way to a new home. It's even sort of sorted out!
My goal is to get it into bags, up the stairs, into my car, and dropped off at the thrift store.
I'm off to a great start! I just re-discovered the dining room table! One bag of papers recycled, a small bag of garbage disposed of, several items to donate boxed up and moved, and several 'lost' items found. The room itself needs further attention but I'm thrilled to have the table back.
I also found someone to take two old keyboards, a computer monitor, and an old printer that have been cluttering our hallway for -- oh, I dunno, um, maybe a YEAR?
Well I only popped in once in July but I did get close to 800 items out...mostly donated in July! My goal was 1000, but I can blame it on awesome summer weather, two children under 3, doing legal stuff to press charges on my former babysitter......
Okay so my goal for August is another 1000 items!

So I am needing some motivation. I am trying for 10 things a day... 310 or more
who's with me?
Oooh, I like the idea of X things per day! I think I can do 3 things a day, for a total of 93.
I'm sure I'll be tossing as I finish unpacking from moving, because I got to the point where I was just throwing random junk into boxes to be done packing.

Any thoughts?
Not that I want to *discourage* you from decluttering - but maternity clothes that I *like* are the one thing I'm glad I kept in all my decluttering, and I don't keep many things. Styles have changed out in the stores in the past 10 years, and so much of what they sell now is not my style - either it doesn't fit right, isn't modest enough (I don't have the body for the plunging necklines and low rider jeans
) etc. But that is just me... if you think you'll be able to replace it, and want to - donate away!!
I'm in ... we are in the middle of painting and will have new carpet put in next week ... I want so much out of here before we have to move furniture for carpet. I don't want to move clutter out and just move it back in. I already filled two huge black garbage bags yesterday for Goodwill, and another smaller one for a friend of mine. Plus I have a box of books to donate too. And that's just the beginning ...
Our bedroom closet is next, followed by the playroom (cutting toys by 50%), and finally the rest of the garage. My goal is by the time dh goes back to work in September and officially start our hs'ing year, our house will be newly painted, carpeted, and simplified.
And, once it's back together, I'm FlyLady'ing it ...
I have an office/guest room that is currently my Secret Shame...that's the door we don't open. The carpet has been peed on so many times and partially eaten, as well, that we need to replace it, but I have to be able to empty out the room first. So that will be my August goal! Tame the office before school starts.
I've taken the past few months and I'm back on board this month.
I got rid of 6 grocery bags full of items and then another garbage bag full. All donated- a mixture of toys and clothes, a few movies and misc. items.
I am going through our baby and toddler clothes to organize them and I'm getting rid of anything that fit the kids funny or I never ended up using for one reason or another. It's amazing how much we have accumulated over the years!
I got rid of 4 things today! I exceeded my goal! That's good, because I'm sure I'll slack off at least one day this month . . . .
So that puts me at 4/93.
