I'm a lurker.
I'm going to help my sister in a little over a week try to declutter one room. The house is bursting at the seams. She has 5 kids, so there is lots of stuff. Any advice on how to help her? What are the emotional issues connected with hoarding?
Thanks.

I would let her actually do the purging while you "coach" her of what she really should keep.
I never think its a good idea for someone else to actually purge since the homeowner will never learn how to do this.
