Last week, we put in a bid on a house and it got accepted the same day. Now we're waiting for bank approval (its in pre-foreclosure) and acceptance into a guaranteed home buying program for our house. So, we were faced with a huge decluttering effort in our home b/c we will hopefully be listing this week.
Today, dd and I went through stuffed animals and got 4 garbage bags full! It was harder on me than her. We grouped everything and she got to choose 1-4 (depending on size) that she wanted to keep. I'm hoping she understands that they're going away. I've been talking about it for a couple of weeks (mainly b/c I've wanted to declutter for quite some time and putting our house on the market finally gave me the push to get it done already!!!) But we've been talking about how blessed we our to have so much stuff and how we need to go through it and give some toys/clothes/whatever to those who may really appreciate it and who will actually use it (as opposed to it being forgotten about in our closet)
I will admit that it was hard for me. I remember who gave her everything. But I know it has to been done and I'm hoping that the love and appreciation we had for it goes to whomever it ends up with.
