Ok, I am majorly decluttering my basement which is going well as I am a declutterer by nature but my main problem is I hate to just throw things away. I donate to Salvation Army, give away to friends, donate books, etc. but now I have about 50 CD cases, all empty, and I am not sure if I should just toss them (gasp!) or donate them to our recycling center or even if anyone would want them on freecycle. Is this weird? Would anyone want them for anything or should I just throw them away and move on? Tell me truthfully, I've already spent too much time on these darn things!

Thanks!:

I've seen art work done with modeling clay in a CD case. With the case closed the clay was protected. It was really neet.

Free cycle or maybe ask a local school if they could use them.

Let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you.)0(

I'll bet someone on freecycle would take them. That's where I got rid of a bunch. I have a whole box that I still need to put on there.

Trying to balance a preschooler and peace....

My son's primary school used empty CD cases to store a variety of recipe cards in for their mother day stall, mine fits neatly in the drawer

If you can't find someone to re-use them, you can recycle CD cases here:

http://www.greendisk.com/

along with other techno-trash, as they call it, like old videos, computer stuff etc. You have to ship it to them, but get all your friends to pool all their old CD cases and videos that don't work anymore (we all have them) and ship them together. I think it's worth it. I can't stand to put stuff like that in the trash.

I listed over 100 on Craigslist free section and they were gone in about 1 minute. The girl who took them is starting a photography studio/company and she puts clients pics on cds and will use the cases to put them in. It made me feel good that they were going to someone who had a genuine need/use for them.
