Everything I'm finding is very Christian based and we're not into that at all. I just want to read about another family sharing their homesteading (natural food, gardening, frugal living) experiences without all the religious talk.

There has to be one out there, right? Can anyone point me in the direction of a good one?

I really love Farm Mama. http://farmama.typepad.com/farmama/

I couldn't swear that she never says anything about religious things (I honestly don't remember) but her blog is wonderful and very focused on their farm and family activities. It's my favorite blog.

I've spent the last 15 minutes reading over Farmama and it's great.

I'm not looking for anti-religion blogs, just some that don't have their religious beliefs as a driving force behind the blog.

I totally get that, Garden Stream. I'm an atheist, and yeah, it's a bit off-putting when every other post is about religion, when all you want to read about is farming!

I also like SouleMama. They are starting up a little farm, and the blog is beautiful. I covet their "new" house.

Oh I love Farm Mama!  I also enjoy my friend Laura's blog - http://gettingthere.typepad.com  and I keep a blog as well - http://trinityacres.wordpress.com.  Now before you start wondering about the name "Trinity Acres", I'll let you know it's named for my three children, my own little trinity, and has nothing to do with religion.  We are not on a religious path :)

I loved Sharon Astyk's "Independence days", so I looked up her blog as well.  I haven't been reading it long, but so far not mch religious influence.  her family is jewish, and it does creep in there some, but the resources are really good I've found, especially food preservation.

Me too. These animals need to start paying for their feed! The eggs are so small, I can't wait to see tiny quail wobbling around in the incubator.

I'm trying for it myself and blog a bit.... but haven't for a few months. Been busy! Plan to start up again. I have several links on the right bar of different blogs I like to read, and I'm with you on the religious stuff. It's off-putting to me, being an agnostic myself, so the blogs I tend towards are not religious by nature.

I keep a blog that isn't Christian, eastmillcreek.blogspot.com. Come check me out! We are homesteading in northern California on the Lost Coast. I'm into permaculture. The blog is sometimes a bit focused on our family, but I try to keep it to sustainable living topics of interest.

Just wanted to pop in and put ourselves out there too....we're at http://darkstarfarm.wordpress.com .  We're currently building our off-the-grid home, so probably less gardening/preserving this year and more building but I try to keep a good mix off all we do plus family stuff.  Plus, this week I'll be doing my first give-away!  So excited!

PS:  Thanks everyone for the great blog links....I love, love, love reading other's experiences and getting great inspiration!  joy.gif

I have a blog here: http://gypsymamarhi.blogspot.com/
I am Pagan and live at a Pagan spiritual retreat, so that does come up, but mostly it's about my adventures in off-grid living as a single mama. (though my boyfriend is moving here within weeks, does that still make me a single mama?) I am not very consistent with it because I often run out of power in the winter. getting more solar panels soon, though, so that should improve.

We are slowly blogging our homesteading adventures.  We are new to it, also added in is simple living, de-cluttering, possibly homeschooling, but never religion.  We are not religious, possibly could be called spiritual but I wouldn't intentionally try and slather my beliefs on my blog.    Really it's for seeing what has worked, failed & such lol.  Thanks to everyone else who shared their blogs too.  I'm always looking for good blogs for new ideas/methods or just to know we are not alone lol.

Mine is more about food, but will lean toward gardening in the summer.  I'm Athiest and my hubby is Jewish. We celebrate all the holidays w/food, but no religious chatter on the blog.

My blog Apartment Farm is about how I homestead in an apartment in Chicago - about gardening, cooking, crafting and such. No mention of religion on my blog at all. I also like the following blogs -

Root Simple

My Suburban Homestead

Starving Off the Land

Tiny Farm

There are a ton of great non-religious blogs about homesteading out there; I have a lot more links to them on my site too.

And the site How to Homestead is a great resource on practical tips and skills.

Apartment Farm - the chronicles of my cooking, gardening, crafting and other such things.

I have a blog about urban homesteading at http://autumnadventures.wordpress.com

We're technically catholic but the only religious stuff that might appear on my blog is like "here are our christmas presents" or the like.  We're not big on the "look at me I'm so religious talk.

well if i might be so bold as to throw my hat in the ring, we've got a blog going at www.onebyonebyone.blogspot.com. i share our efforts in simple living, gardening, cooking, working at a farm and bringing as much of that philosophy home as we can. not religious (unless simplicity is a new religion!).

hope to see you there...
