No pics of the cabin yet, but we finished the plans for it tonght. When I say tiny, I mean tiny. It'll be 20x20 with a good size porch, and a patio out back. The pics below show the plans. The three unlabeled rooms will be the bedrooms, with both of the smaller ones having bunk beds in them eventually. We plan to have more children, so we'll need a lot of beds! There will be one door in the bathroom leading to the patio and the back yard, and another diagonally across the house, in front of the smallest bedroom. Please tell me what you think, or if you think I should move things around to maximize our use of the space.
I'm so anxious to get started putting it up, but we won't be moving until next summer. I can hardly wait to post pics of the actual house!
I've enjoyed floor plans since I was a child. I used to draw them for fun (still do lol.) Your enthusiasm is shining right through your plans!
Will there be a loft in the cabin? That would be a way to add even more space--maybe for a kid's play area, adult sleeping quarters, or just storage. Maybe a partial loft, covering the bedroom area, but open to the living area. If you think you might need more space in the future, you could always build an addition, right? The house can grow with your family.
Have you seen this before? I love this idea. It can be fun to live in a small house!
Love it! I used to design homes as my career pre-babies and the only 2 things I see that you might want to check on/revise are storage options and bedroom sizes. In California, we follow the UBC (building codes) and there are certain requirements for bedroom size and I think one of the bedrooms might be under. If you are set on the 5'-6" x 7'-0" BR, I would consider revising it to the title "walk in closet" as you pass it through the permitting office. That's it though, I love that you put all the plumbing on one wall, nice job! I also like the idea of loft space, I think it's a great idea, esp if you have a steeper pitch roof.
