When we lived in IN we saw plain folks all the time at Wal-Mart. :

I *think* they were primarily old order Mennonite, though, based upon the clothing.

The Amish seemed to pretty much stay home or shop at their stores. We did see the Amish at farm auctions a lot, though!

No, no, I know that Amish is a religion and does not equal "cruchy" I guess I just figured that because where we are, there are no WalMarts anywhere near buggy distance from the Amish communities. I always think Old Order when I think of Amish too, although I know there are different sects like in all religions. But we have loads of Mennonites who don't mind us English so much

Anyhow, back on topic... there is a really big farm/general store that sells all kinds of cool off grid-ish stuff on the outskirts of our closest Amish community. I am willing to bet that if there is a community of any sect of Amish near by the OP, there is a store that caters to them (and tourists). As for wood stoves, a google search of "wood stove" will turn up dozens of websites from excellent companies so you can get an idea of what you want. From there you just click on "find a dealer" or email the company to find out where the stove you are interested in is sold. I wish we could have a wood stove... but we live in a cape cod and there is no where to put it where it would be up to code

I'm subbing because I want to look all these up. I work alot with the Amish/Mennonite. Although in my communities, they do most of their shopping at Walmart.
