Should I be concerned? My kid's soft spot (he's 6 weeks old) seems sunken in sometimes...

But he's growing like a weed (actually, more like a jiggly water baloon), I can hardly keep up with what size he wears, and he keeps me up to my neck in dirty diapers every day....

Is the sunken soft spot as huge of a red flag dehydrated indicator as they make it out to be?

2 of the 3 babies of the house have had this. Like the pp said--as long as wet dipes keep coming, not to worry. Otherwise, it would signal dehydration.

Agreed! Keep an eye on his diaps, if there's plentiful wetness I wouldn't worry.

Agreed with the others. DS wets diapers like a champ and is growing so fast yet he has a very pronounced fontanel- just some babies' head shape I guess.

thats what the ped told us about Bryson (other 2 never had this). We were afraid of dehydration, but he has plenty of wet diapers and eating well so he's fine.
Now @ 3 weeks, its no longer sunken in...some babies take long than other for it to "fill in"

My kiddo's soft spot didn't used to be sunken in. For about the first week, it wasn't at all. Then a bit later it started to sink a bit. I notice it seems sunken while he's sitting in certain positions but not in others. But like I say, he's keeping us loaded with tons of diapers every day. And he's getting extremely chubby. I guess I should put my mind at ease.
