My 3 month old baby boy is coughing, seems like a little cold because he has extra drool (phlegm). Anyway, this has been since Sunday. He does not have a fever, nor is he cranky, and he is still nursing regularly. I have put a humidifier in the room he sleeps in, and sat with him in a steam filled bathroom to try to "open him up." What else can I do? I hate to hear him cough... and this never happened with my other 2 children.
Suggestions??

a humidifier in the room your LO is sleeping in can be good to help break things up, steam baths like you're doing and if you have the gusto take a bulb syringe and try to suck out some of the extra phlegm while they cough (I never had to guts to do so, although my MW suggested it would help clear my LO out sooner)

and big big hugs , I went through a bad sickness last winter when DD2 was 3 months, it was not fun

I would do the syringe... but there doesn't appear to be anything in his nose... when he is coughing the phlegm comes out of his mouth.
