My 6 week old is so gassy and grunts all night long. He grunts and strains so hard he makes himself spit up and then gags on it. We are getting little sleep and I feel bad for him! My first son was a grunter too we even took him to the ER thinking he was obstructed or something and they said it was mild colick. That was 8 years ago and I can't remember how long it takes for the LO's to work out their digestive systems. Any thoughts woul be very appreciated!
I have massaged and bicycled and he farts a lot!!! But I think he just keeps making more so it is a constant thing. I read on an old thread that it is actually named in the medical community Grunting Baby Syndrome
I just can't remember how long newborns/infants are gassy/colicky.
Thanks for your thoughts!!
Oh my gosh, then my Addie has Grunting Baby Syndrome!!!
She grunts and groans in her sleep all night, farting away! We're starting to get used to it and most of the time it doesn't seem to bother her b/c she doesn't wake up and isn't crying.
Have you thought about a possible food allergy? This may not be it for you, but DS2 had bad gas until a week or so after I stopped eating all forms of dairy. He basically never passed gas after that unless I slipped up and had some dairy to eat.
