Dd is eating lots and lots of messy finger foods. I really need a good bib. Sometimes I feel like I should just put a bucket around her neck to catch everything that falls. I got a couple "natural" oilcloth bibs but the pockets get nasty and I can't get them clean. I'm thinking of getting something like this:

Can anyone recommend a good, sturdy, food-catching bib? Thanks!

I can relate! DS loves getting his food all over the place.

I have a Tidy Turtle bib with sleeves and love it. The neck is adjustable with velcro so you get a nice fit. And it has snaps at the bottom, so you can make a pocket if you want. I wash it in the sink with my dishes if it's not too dirty and hang it to dry.

I found mine at a thrift store for $3.

our Bumkins bibs!!!! It doesn't have an permanent open pocket but it "pooches" out enough to catch most dropped food. It dries super fast and comes in a large variety of patterns. It also has excellent reviews on Amazon. Oh and no harmful materials in it! And made in USA!

We have this one: http://www.bumkins.com/shop/pc/SuperBib-49p17.htm

We love these bibs from Ikea. They are very similar to the bumpkins bibs, same material, same nice big pocket, same easy care, but much cheaper. We wash them with our towels or the baby's clothes.

We were on vacation last week and therefore ate out a lot. I would use the Ikea bib at lunch, quickly wash it out in the restaurant bathroom sink, hang it on the stroller or put it in the trunk and it would be clean and dry for dinner (actually it would dry in about 1 hour).

I do not like the dex bibs.

When we are at home I just strip lo down to a clean prefold and pop him in the sink after eating for a spray off. When we are out I got this super cheap plastic bib that is all soft plastic with a little pocket at Kroger.

We love the smock-style with sleeves from Ikea. Ordinary (sleeveless) bibs don't cut it for my messy eater. In fact, most of the time I just strip him down and let him eat naked. After breakfast, we hop in the shower together and after dinner he either goes right to the bath or gets sponged off in the kitchen sink. Luckily he loves getting wet!
