Sounds possible. I think there is a pretty wide range. With my first, it took her forever to transition from 3 to 2 naps, and didn't get there till 8 or 9 months. She went to 1 nap at 12 or 13 months. My 8 month old dropped the 3rd nap right around 7 months, pretty easily.
DS gradually went from sort of napping all day in the sling or swing to just two discernable long naps by three months, which incidentally coincided with sleeping through the night for 10+ hours.
He started phasing out the second nap at ten months when cruising began and by the time he was walking at 11 months he was down to one two or three hour nap in the middle of the morning, but was sleeping 12+ hours at night.
By 2.5 years old he had zero interest in naps (believe me, I tried EVERYTHING to rekindle those days), but on the plus side, he slept like a teenager in a coma at night. He has always been a super active kid, so once he started getting mobile, there was no interest in sleeping through life. I dread the day he discovers why grown-ups drink coffee.
Is your LO starting to walk, too, by any chance?

DD3 isn't even 9 months yet and some days has 1 nap. My kids have gone through phases changing from 1 to 0 and back again, but we have to enforce a nap cause she gets unbareable w/ the 3 yo, our 2 yo just falls asleep early.
I don't remember when dd went from 3 to 2, but I do remember she went from 2 to 1 at 8 months. She stopped napping all together at around 3, but for about 6 months before that they were only a couple times a week.
Ds went to one nap around 12 months, and stopped napping at 2.5.
