I have been so busy the last few days- dh is in Houston for work so it is just me with ds ans dd. Fun but hard sometimes! DD has really not been sleeping long during her naps lately and wakes up cranky. that is so unusual for her.
She's not crawling or moving around yet, but she did just learn to pull herself up to sitting or from sitting to standing if I give her my hands. She thinks it is so great. She gets so excited and grabs for me with her hands and immediately pulls herself up! She just grins- it is so cute! She still doesn't know that she can use other things to pull herself up- but that's OK 'cause she wouldn't know what to do once she got herself up anyway!
Love all the pictures that are up! All these adorable babies!
Well- back to work!
CTMOMOF2 - Kolaiah is pronounced cole-eye-uh, accent on the middle syllable.
And it's "phonetically" not fenetically. :LOL
I've had a lot of people pronounce it koala, and that is the one mispronunciation that makes me
because the 'a' is not before the 'l'. I have also heard ko uh lie uh and ko lay uh. Bizarre. I guess I'm just one of those people that just knows how to pronounce words. Remember reading out loud in grade school? I was digging half moons into my palms just from straining to not correct people. :LOL
Anyway...I'm mommy to a lazy baby too. Mine doesn't even roll over from his back to his tummy or sit without support, let alone crawl or walk. He's so content to lay on mommy all day. I don't care. I'm so crazy about him I could hold him for another year.
DID- I feel the same way about pronunciation (and spelling as well) I'm not sure where it came from (I'm really a mathematical person) but I am such a grammar freak! It drives me nuts when someone asks "where's it at?" I just want to say "it's at over there!" anyway- little pet peaves!
I am starting to really miss being able to hold dd as much as I used to. She wiggles and grabs for stuff and just won't sit still anymore so I can just cuddle her! Bummer! She doesn't really want to actually move anywhere- but she just loves to play! I can sit her down (I still keep a pillow behind her just in case) and she will play for so long! Oh well- I guess they all have to grow up!
:LOL
I know when DS starts wanting down I am going to miss it so I am sucking up all the love and snuggles I can get now! I don't want him to grow up! He's 7 months old already and my older son turns 5 on the 21st!
Just in the last week or so Micah has been pulling himself up on the side of a walker. He hasn't quite mastered the idea that you have to move your feet along with your hands in order to get motion, so he's doing a LOT of falling and crying. He also has a paper addiction. Any paper he gets his hands on, he gets SO excited and then commences to shred it and chew it up... I'm constantly taking paper away after he's grabbed it off the desk, the counter, the kitchen table, etc... He's such a busy kid. He also loves to stand and jump. Rather than "walk" while holding his hands, he JUMPS! It cracks me up so bad, and I call him my little jumping bean. He's quite the little character. Anyone's baby giving kisses yet? Micah grabs my hair and ears or cheeks, pulls me down and splasters the most wonderful slobbery open mouthed kisses on my face, sort of rubbing it in. I get laughing so hard I can hardly breath... this is definitely a VERY fun age... Micah's such a happy darling baby... I feel so blessed. Oh, you can see his latest pictures, including the kisses on and click on the Micah Month 6 link...
Oh, and could somebody acknowledge me this time? I'm feeling a bit ignored, seeing as the last couple times i posted nobody even responded...
Sorry..I read your last post and i even checked out your website...somehow I find myself being yanked away from the computer...I have a dial up connection so sometimes posting takes forever. But I was glad to see you back in action
plum...I forgot to answer your question...hehe..I haven't tried TCOYF yet but I have the book and find it all fascinating. I have talked with several ladies that use it on a regular basis for birthcontrol and have had success. When I get my cycle back I will probably try it. Right now I am in the middle of so many books..one more that isn't needed right now..isn't at the top of my list...hehe
Ah yes, online time is usually pretty scarce around here too. I feel lucky this week though cause ds1 is so fascinated with the cd player he got for his birthday that he just sits in his "thinking chair" and listens to his favourite cds all night. Ds2 is so wrapped up in crawling around and eating stuff he finds on the floor that he could care less about mama. Dh is glued to the tv (hockey playoffs). I have more mdc time than I know what to do with :LOL It won't last.
Organique Gal- Those Kisses! They are wonderful, dd has been giving them to me for a little while, but she just started giving them to other people as well! It is so cute- she made my grandma very happy by giving her one! Love those kisses!
Oh yes...I love those kisses too but man does she pinch the heck out of my neck....I think I have bruises...she is so forcefull sometimes....too funny.. She gave one big long lovey kiss and hug to my sister's friend the other day....for no reason..she wouldn't give one to anyone else...it was a riot and of course made sis's friends day...hehe
Oh my gosh- the pinching! Marisol give me bruises too- just on my arm when she's nursing- they just don't seem like they should be that strong yet!
:LOL
I love having two little boys. I was so worried it would be so hard, and at the end of every day I find myself sighing at how really, really okay it is
Penelope,
I feel the same way
I just love saying "my boys". It just feels nice

:LOL I can just imagine :LOL Akira referss to tools as "mama's tools" and whenever he sees something that is broken he says the "girls need to fix that". :LOL
SOunds like a personal ad doesn't it?! I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Olivia and I have a wonderful little guy named Erik who was born in July, but due early Octoberish. He is mostly a six month old by developmental standards. We live in Bern, Switzerland. Hope to get to know you all better!
Thanks for the welcome! We are in the midst of moving and I am so unmoitivated to unpack. Erik is soooooo clingy lately and It's been rough getting stuff done. So we are living in a pit. *shocked and dismayed Swiss neighbours all round*. Really I am terrible about this at the best of times, but it's just WORSE now that Erik is in this phase.
oy. My mum is coming in 3 weeks... so I better have it done by then!
Welcome Olivia & Erik !
You'll enjoy the gals here.
I have my DH who was born 4.5 wks early.
Are you a native to Switzerland?
I love hearing about living in different countries.
Ugh, I'm in the middle of packing to move- yuck
Marisol went through that clingy phase too- it was impossible to do anything. Just in the last few weeks she has changed so much- she plays all the time. It sounds like Erik is developing well for being born so early! That's wonderful!
Don't feel bad about not wanting to unpack. I always hate doing that! My house looks like we're moving 'cause there are so many big boxes all around the house (ordering bunches of stuff to make diapers!) but we've been here for four years! There's just no where to put everything!
Good luck getting it done before your mom gets there!
:LOL
