My almost 8 month DD is having separation anxiety.  She is always home with DH and I as we work from home.  Gramma comes over at least once a week, but lately DD basically wants nothing to do with her.  I need to have a few hours a day a few times a week to really be able to get some things done and I'm so glad that gramma is near and we can bring her over.  As I speak, gramma and DD are out in our living room and DD is not happy about it.  How can I help this situation?  How can I get DD more comfortable with being left with gramma both at our house and hers?

With her becoming more aware (knowing you're in the other room, for example), she might do better with Grandma if you weren't there. If she has the option, it makes sense that she's going to choose mom.

Another tip I've seen somewhere is to make sure there are times that she sees you interacting with Grandma in a positive way where the focus isn't on her, rather just you enjoying Grandma's company. Her seeing you interact with the other caregiver can be reassuring for her.

That is helpful, it probably is best for them to just be alone together.  What's funny is DD fell asleep with her Grandma (not easily!) and when she woke up they played together so sweetly.  Then I had to mess it up by coming out to get them to walk with me to the store! We will get there....
