Not sure if I have the right forum....but I need some help. I am in Canada and am off for the year on maternity leave. An opportunity for a new job at my current company has come up that would be a major move up for me and provide better stability for my family. I think I have a good chance at the job but my question is - if I am offered the job does my company need to respect my maternity leave and allow me to start in 4 months time or can they ask me to start right away? I'm not ready to leave my baby yet and am not sure I would take it if forced to cut my leave short. Anyone know the laws around this? What are my rights? I know DH could take over the parental leave but babe is EBF and we have never used bottles. I cant see me being able to introduce that in such a short time. Typically when I go back to work my babies are 1 and eating solids relatively well and I come home for lunch to nurse so I'm down to nursing about 5-6 times per day. When I'm at work they just have water in a sippy cup. Right now babe isn't really eating much in the way of solids and nurses really frequently!! Help!!!
