My baby girl will be 5 months in 2 days and has been showing signs that she is ready to eat , she moves her tongue in and out as to taste and she can hold her head up great, she is also starting to sit up!! I bought some baby food over the weekend i want to introduce her to it , im looking for some advice at what age do babies usually start to eat baby food and cereal ?

I gave my kids food like baby cereal, bananas, avocado, and sweet potato starting around 4 months. I wouldn't say they actually ate very much. It was really just for the experience of tasting new flavors and getting used to the spoon. Good luck!

Are you breastfeeding or formula-feeding? Many people advise waiting until 6 months if they are excusively breastfed because it can help prevent allergies. 4-6 months is usually when people start with food. My pediatrician said you can start with any food except honey. Here is a link to Kellymom and their guidance on solid foods.
