anyone else baby with "sacral dimple?'

I googled and this is what my 1 year old has, so weird that I JUST noticed it! It's this extra, deep, tiny dot above his booty crack. Apparently, if it was open, that would be something dangerous, but it's not! It's just...weird! But loveable I guess! Just wondered if I was the only one with a weird butt baby

My daughter has one and her buttcrack looks like a lightning bolt at the top. Its harmless but a good reminder to get enough folate for subsequent pregnancies.

My 2 yr old has one. It's really deep, the nurses freaked when she was born. But it was closed so they decided it was ok. Lol
Hers is genetic, her dad has one and most of his family does too.

My baby has a dimple too. It is probably harmless, but because he also has discoloration and a hairy patch, he could be among the few that have troubles down the road. Time will tell. I think his Dad has one, and as it turns out, so does my Mom. Neither of them knew anything about it.

Wow, I had no idea it was related to folate, or that with other symptoms like hair, it could cause problems later....Wow! I guess I'm relieved it isn't anything worse...

In more severe cases, its spina bifida.

Yeah I think folate really does have something to do with it. My dh mother has one, and her kids, and her aunt had a baby that died from spinal problems so I don't think it's a coincidence. I plan on being really good about folate for future pregnancies.

I've been more careful since my lo was born too, just in case we had a surprise. We're planing on getting pregnant again next summer so I'm starting to prepare my body now. A prenatal and lots of folate to build up my supply. From what I understand the most important time for folate is before you know your pregnant. That's why they recommend a prenatal for anyone that could get pregnant.

I have been on a green smoothie kick for a couple of years and my son was born fine. He is a really strong baby. He was born with lots of tone and was throwing his head around like crazy. I credit all the greens I ate during pregnancy along with healthy fats. I wasnt eating the greatest before I had mt daughter.

Both my babies have one. I have one and it led to a pilonidal cyst, make sure as he grows he knows to keep that are very clean!
